I'm sorry but this restaurant has gone downhill. They are using standard American vegetables like frozen peas and carrots in curries? When I go out for Thai I expect the real deal not something I can make at home by buying some curry sauce and mixing it with Birdseye frozen veggies.

Found this gem while passing through the neighborhood. It was packed on a weeknight and so thought it must have something to offer. We weren't disappointed. We shared a curry that was generously portioned, extremely flavorful and fresh. The service was prompt and pleasant. I would describe the decor as gold-baroque Thai, which makes for an interesting dining experience. The... More

The food is always very good at Nicky's- the best Pad Thai I have had in Pittsburgh to date. The Pineapple Fried Rice is also a top pick. We had a girls' night out to celebrate a friend's birthday, and we had a great night. The restaurant can get busy- be prepared for a short wait on weekend evenings.

I eat at the North Side location regularly. The food is reliably awesome. I have no favorites, because I've enjoyed everything I've ever tried here. If the weather is warm, ask to sit on the patio. I had been eating there for over a year the first time it was offered to me and was blown away by the little... More

This is a very nice small neighborhood restaurant with excellent food. Portions are large. They don't have a liquor license but you can take your own wine. Their menu is extensive and service is quick. Highly recommend.

The Thai cuisine at Nicky's is as real as it gets. An assorted variety of tastes for the palate, some of which I may not be adventurous enough to try. Nicely served and with attention to presentation, as well. We stopped in for lunch early and within minutes the place was packed. The place could use a little touch up... More

Visited Western Avenue location to try something new in reliance on Trip Advisor standing. Hostess and server were attentive and helpful. Drinks were refilled without prompting. Server recommended the Lamb entree which I tried and thoroughly enjoyed, I was hungry but portions were more than enough for me and I took some home. I went middle of the road on... More

I went here for lunch prior to seeing a show downtown. I arrived early so there was no need to make a reservation. Lunch entrees include either a soup of the day or a tossed salad. I opted for the salad which came with a delicious pineapple dressing. For my entree I had chicken teriyaki with rice. Both were very... More

We had a late lunch and enjoyed sitting in the courtyard area. Service was good. Food was milder than we typically eat at Thai restaurants. Server said 5 was similar to jalepeno so we went with that. Food as prepared was very mild. Wish we would have ordered about a 6 or 7. Food was good otherwise.
