First meal when visiting Pitt & had a hearty and satisfying brunch after being on airplanes the whole morning. Sampled a bit of everything, including the eggs platter with their seasoned (& addicting potatoes) & uniquely delicious chorizo. In addition, had to try their famous hotcakes, going for the chocolate chip banana ones. Boy are they the ultimate breakfast food... More

Get there early and get there often! Just the perfect breakfast spot...fast service, great food served hot, amazing and caring staff, and well priced! Cannot wait to go back! Definitely a must go when visiting Pitt or CM. Awesome spot!

Love Pamela's and love taking family and friends from out of town so they can rave about it too! I had basic eggs and potatoes. The potatoes are always amazing. Eggs are eggs and the meats at Pamela's are just ok, IMO. But my family got some of the fancier stuff, the hot cakes and such and as always...they can't... More

Pamela's Diner is a Pittsburgh tradition and serves up great breakfasts in all 4 locations: Shadyside, Squirrel Hill,Millvale and The Strip District. Know for their famous pancakes, President Obama visited the Strip location last year and raved about this specialty! Not to be missed: Gail's Eggs, and great Corned Beef Hash. A must for breakfast when visiting!

For all the eateries on bustling Forbes Ave the strip is lacking in breakfast options. There are plenty of coffee shops but the only place we saw to get a traditional eggs & bacon kind of breakfast is Pamelas Diner and thank goodness that it’s there. The tables are a little tight but even on a busy Sunday morning the... More

Situated on the Pitt campus, Pamela's enjoys a loyal following among the Pitt faithful. Most schools have a place that defines the cheap breakfast experience on campus and Pamela's serves this role for Pitt. The pancakes here are the go-to for breakfast. They are unique in their style. I kind of liken them to a "pan-crepe". You know this is... More

We visited for the first time in Feb 2011- everyone in the party got either the Strawberry Hotcakes with brown sugar and sour cream, or the Chocolate Chip Banana Hotcakes. Oh. My. They were absolutely delicious! They are a cross between pancakes and crepes, and we all devoured them. Most recent visit was Sept. 2014, and Pamela's did not disappoint.... More

I was told by a couple of people to try Pamela's. The food was ok. But your typical diner food. I know it can't be helped, but there seemed to be a lot of flys inside. The place was busy, so clearly I'm missing something. I will also be missing this stop next time in town.

You can't say you've been to Pittsburgh unless you've eaten at Pamela's. And, yes, Pamela's is known for its crepe-like pancakes (pancake-like crepes?) which are delicious, utterly delicious. We went on a Sunday morning just before a Steelers home game. Somehow I doubt it is any less crowded any other weekend. Fortunately the wait was short and the service was... More

Everyone talks about the pancakes and all I have to say is that even weeks later I am still craving those pancakes. I got a side of ham steak with mine and all I can say is that the ham steak was really tasty and it was a good size portion!
