We split an Italian and got a side of mozzarella sticks. Root beer as well of course! Everything about the sandwich was fresh fresh fresh! All the flavors from the oil and oregano to the meats, tomatoes, honestly everything was perfect. This is a local family business that is showing why these places are so important (and great)! Visit when... More

Family owned since 1941. It probably has the same interior. It's one of those places that you walk into and you step back in time. Great service. The steak zep is my favorite but you only need a small because there sandwiches are huge. They open at 5:30am and close at 3pm. Breakfast is great too. All and all it... More

Lou's is the best old-school sandwich shop in the county as far as I'm concerned. The zeps (local variation on the hoagie, but on a soft round superb roll) are great. The soups , including famous split pea is tremendous, always leave with a couple for the road. Friendly owners and staff, reasonable prices, this place is a home run.... More

If you grew up in Norristown you have to know about Lou's. I go into Lou's quite often, at least three or four times a week. I go in for breakfast or lunch and it takes me ten minutes to sit down just to say hello to everyone I know. The best thing on the menu is the Zeps Breakfast... More

It's all about the bread! And Lou s has it. Their sandwiches are outstanding. There is nothing fancy about Lou s. Plain and simple. The inside Looks like it did back in the 70s, but that is the charm of the place. Kept reading about the Zeps, so I went and asked about it. Lou provided a free sample. It's... More

Our first time, but saw the great reviews and decided to try the zeps steak & cheese sandwich which is a huge hoagie.. Delicious with with the best bakery roll ever made at a local bakery (Corropolese Bakery & Deli), lots of large fresh garden tomato slices plus onion, mushrooms, peppers and hot pepper relish. Great french fries and the... More

The BEST Zeps (must be on a round roll!) anywhere. If you are not fron Norristown, find someone who is and ask what a Zep is :) I equally love the traditional Zep and the Tuna version. The place is by no means facny or frilly, but the food is great and the service friendly. A great local eatery with... More
