The food was excellent, a the setting was beautiful, high on a hill overlooking the Cape abreton Highlands. We watched hummingbirds feeding as we ate. I had a beet and blueberry salad to start; it was delicious. My husband tried the wild mushroom soup, with...More

Our family of four adults had a wonderful two-day stay here in July, and the gorgeous rural peaceful location was just the start. The rooms were comfortable and decorated with treasures from Earlene's (the owner and chef) family and trips, making it feel like a...More

Nice location and friendly banter. Limited but nice menu. I was disappointed that my dish contained pork and it wasn't listed on the description of the dish on the menu. Like many people I don't eat pork so I think this should be pointed out...More

Thank you for taking time to write regarding your experience. Yes, the menu is limited because it changes daily. And since we prepare everything from locally produced ingredients, supporting an extensive menu is impossible. The menu usually lists 2-3 soups and salads, 6-7 desserts, and...More

Thank you for your compliments! Glad you appreciated the scottish humor that accompanied your dinner. And thank you for helping the Chanterelle help the local farmers, fishers and growers. We look forward to your return.

Thank you for such a complimentary review. I am so glad you enjoyed the halibut as it is truly a sacred fish! Keith's humor is indeed the authentic droll humor of the descendants of the Scottish highlanders. He was pleased that you shared it!
