Expensive. No value for money, serving the entrée and main at the same time, is unacceptable in any restaurant. Very disappointed, serving the entrée and the main at the same time, felt like we got told to eat our food fast and get out. The...entrée was below average, my wife had the oysters Kilpatrick which were bad, and I had the buttermilk fried calamari, which was blend. For main my wife had beer-battered fish and chips, a very average dish, I had the 300g porterhouse, it was served on a mountain of chips making the chips soggy from the juice of the meat. It was served with hot English mustard (no choice) but not everyone likes hot English mustard. Would not go back thereMore
They only do wood fired Pizza on Friday nights and weekends but they are worth the wait. Last Friday we opted for the Italian pizza which was just a tad spicy but scrumptious. If you are a small group recommend that you book a table...cause I have seen them so busy that they have to turn away customers. If you don’t like pizza they have a great selection of food 7 days a week.More
Don't order crumbed snapper It seems the chef has never seen real fish. He served up some crumbed reconstituted something and when I questioned this he insisted it was snapper!
We look forward to visiting the YST for lunch every week. Absolutely perfect views, professional and friendly staff and a very varied menu. This past week we enjoyed two fabulous specials - Kingfish sashimi with an amazing soy sauce based marinade and also Tempura oysters...with jalapeño mayo. Both specials were a fantastic addition to the standard menu and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Highly recommended. Thank you YST! Beth and DavidMore
4 of us had lunch here last month. All our meals were really yummy. Prices were very reasonable & service was fast. Always our go to when we visit Yamba.
My partner and I met 2 friends from Grafton here yesterday for lunch & all our meals were very good. 3 of us had Calamari which melted in your mouth & one person had the Lamb Cutlets that he said were very good. All meals...were reasonably priced and came quickly considering the Tavern was busy.More
My husband had fish and chips which he said was good. I had the salmon. $32 and it was a bowl full of potatoes with a tiny piece of salmon and 2 really small baby tomatoes cut in half. It was served with creme fraiche....Should have said on menu Bowl of potatoes with tomato and salmon garnish.More
Fantastic grilled Cajun Barramundi with corn & tomato salsa - so fresh and the cos lettuce salad was a perfect complement. Potato wedges were a great addition too! Loved it. Thank you - Beth and David
We came here for Mother's Day at 11am knowing that the kitchen opened at 11:30 in the hopes that we would beat the rush. Although they were reluctant to allow us to have a meal as they were fully booked, at our request they allowed...us to sit in the bar and order pizza. Strangely most tables were reserved from 1pm to 1:30pm, so they sat vacant. Mum and I had the vegetarian - pesto base, roast mushrooms, Tallagio cheese and truffle oil. The pizza is really just a cheese and mushroom pizza, but the pesto and truffle oil made the pizza more interesting. Len had the seafood - prawns, calamari, white fish, garlic and fennel slaw (sans chillis) and he thought it was delicious. All in all, we will be back. The outlook over the water is gorgeous. It's a fabulous venue right on the Clarence River.More
Another fantastic location and view over the river. Big playground for kids to play however it’s pretty dirty and needs a good clean. It was also overrun by teenagers playing dangerously therefore limiting age appropriate kids to play. I overheard other families also complaining about...this as their kids couldn’t play properly either. Food was average and a little overpriced for what it was. Cutlets weren’t great for $28. Husbands fish of the day was delicious however. Would come back as it’s an easy meal but maybe not at peak time with toddlersMore
Beautiful location. Indifferent food. Impersonal service. Beer was also bland. Nothing terrible just not very good.
Yet another gem of a spot in Yamba. The Tavern is right on the water with boats coming and going. The food was excellent (salmon bruschetta and ribs). Would highly recommend this place.
It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had tonight. The whole table all ordered at the counter one after the other 2 guests received their meals after 10 minutes, whereas the rest of us waited a minimum of 45 minutes... my...oysters took 45 minutes to arrive and then another 15 minutes after that for our mains but they were not even our mains the waiter brought out Rump steak when my partner ordered rib fillet and I order salmon but was brought Calamari. Everything was a massive disappointment apart from 1 dish, and one of our guests didn't even receive his food and has gone home hungry. The whole night was disorganised and a very large disappointment after so much good we had been informed of. Upon informing the apparent manager on duty about the whole situation, I was provided with the response ..." Yeah, we are a little chaotic tonight. I'm so sorry. " ... after 16 years working in hospitality I would be compassionate and understanding if there were busy but the waiters were not run off there feet and there was several spare tables around us. Not a very good outcome or response to so much disappointment.More
