Have eaten here many times in the past but haven’t been to Yamba for about 12 months. Super location, great park for the kids, breezy and cool on a hot day and an extensive menu. It was extremely busy and the line up process to order food was incredibly slow. One girl taking orders and also serving drinks. It was painful to stand in a line for nearly an hour when you are out and catching up with family so you don’t get to talk and relax. Then it was another hour until meals were served. When the food came it was piping hot and yummy but the kids were over it and tired by the time they got to eat. Given the process will probably not rush back and will aim for something not as popular next time. Great meals but be prepared for a long wait.

We went on a Tuesday so the special for that day was Rump Steak or chicken schnitzel, we had the chicken and we were not disappointed. It was so busy which usually indicates a good venue. Lovely looking out at the water with the odd boat going past and the fish swimming near the jetty. With COVID restrictions things ran very well and our meal came within 10 minutes of ordering.

The hotel is great with awesome seating and outlook. The food we ordered was very ordinary. The salmon was over cooked and the dish was a mess with its sides. The ribs were dry and flavourless. Dissapointed with the food as last visit was great.

I once worked with a chef in Coffs Harbour that used to speak so highly of the Yamba Tavern, so it was a must see on our trip. Location is lovely, playground is perfect for the kids and my meal of ribs were great. However the overpriced and lack of tasting whole snapper special was a real let down. I’ve managed seafood restaurants and I can tell you the size of the snapper was not worth $36 - and if you’re selling it at that you’re either ripping off your customers or your suppliers are ripping you off! Service was crap, I had to chase down floor staff numerous times and once was to find out where my daughters dinner was. The lady with the pink hair threw her hands in the air and said ‘well I don’t know.’ Once returning to our table my family asked, what did you say to earn the dramatic reaction? Apparently I shouldn’t be asking why we’ve finished our meals and still waiting on a 2 year olds dinner... Wouldn’t return here again

Ridiculous opening hours. We called the courtesy bus at 8:15 and was told it would pick us up at 8:45 from the Blue Dolphin. The bus finally arrived at 9.05pm so we were at the Tavern by about 9:10 only to be told that the kitchen closes at 8:30 pm! Considering it was the Australia Day weekend and it had only just gotten dark we were annoyed that the whole experience was a complete waste of time and we ended up walking to McDonald’s which was the only thing open at that time. I guess Yamba is not exactly a late night town but 8.30pm? Really?

Right on the river & you can even arrive by boat to their jetty & feed the fish. Kids playground. Lower level is the place to be to catch up with friends or for a party with plenty of space. Menu is good with nightly specials

We live in Yamba and stop into the Tavern at least 2 - 3 times each week. Oysters are always fresh and local - grilled fish of the day is always a great choice and the grilled salmon and risotto dish is a refreshing addition to the menu. It's a welcoming and relaxing venue for lunch & the view on the water is just perfect.

We drove around Yamba looking for somewhere to have a beer that might have a nice outlook. Surprisingly we didn't find many places but then we came across the Tavern. We parked and walked in and said we just wanted a drink and maybe a bowl of chips so we were told which area to sit in which was away from the lunch diners. That was ok we were happy to be where we were and the view was good. We paid $11.50 for a bowl of chips and that is all it was, no sauce or extras, and while the chips were good we thought it a bit high in price. All up pleasant but nothing to rave about.

We booked for Valentines Day and upon arrival, REMY, said all the tables on the deck were occupied. He would try to find us a suitable seat. We found a table in the main bar area. Later on Remy found us and asked whether we wanted to move as he had a table that possibly would suit us! How caring was that? Very difficult to find good staff at the moment and Remy was at the main desk for arrivals. He was Number One - handing menus around to the smoking area; collecting glasses, and basically looking to see whether guests were happy. The other staff member we encountered and have in the past is GLEN. Always obliging and helpful. Well done Kirsty and Matt having such professional and well trained staff during these trying times. It is no surprise that your business, Yamba Tavern, is humming and doing well.

Something for everyone. Here, you can actually pull up on your boat and come in for a meal/beer. Great kids playground and amazing view. Had ribs twice because they were so good. Big lines ro order, but once you order the food comes out fairly quickly with children being prioritised. Its a must visit.

We ordered a Margherita pizza and grilled salmon with a Vietnamese salad and rice noodle. The pizza was tasteless and the tomato sauce base tasted like it was out of a jar from the supermarket. The pizza dough was floury and didn’t taste wood fired at all. The piece of salmon was over cooked and the salad was just a pile of mess on the plate mostly shredded cabbage soaked in a sour dressing nothing like a beautiful Vietnamese salad dressing. The rice noodles were scattered through the mess and when I found one and tried it it wasn’t cooked. This is not the first disappointing meal we’ve had in Yamba this week. It’s so surprising because so many reviews talk about how great the food is here and I’ve had nothing but overpriced below average food so far. Must be going to the wrong places I guess. Any suggestions of good food here would be welcome.

It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had tonight. The whole table all ordered at the counter one after the other 2 guests received their meals after 10 minutes, whereas the rest of us waited a minimum of 45 minutes... my oysters took 45 minutes to arrive and then another 15 minutes after that for our mains but they were not even our mains the waiter brought out Rump steak when my partner ordered rib fillet and I order salmon but was brought Calamari. Everything was a massive disappointment apart from 1 dish, and one of our guests didn't even receive his food and has gone home hungry. The whole night was disorganised and a very large disappointment after so much good we had been informed of. Upon informing the apparent manager on duty about the whole situation, I was provided with the response ..." Yeah, we are a little chaotic tonight. I'm so sorry. " ... after 16 years working in hospitality I would be compassionate and understanding if there were busy but the waiters were not run off there feet and there was several spare tables around us. Not a very good outcome or response to so much disappointment.

If you want somewhere quiet and are trying for romance, do not go here! Luckily for us we had two feral kids with us so it was wonderful; they could scream and throw spag bol and no one cared! Exactly what you expect from a tavern, they cooked my steak well and my hubby enjoyed his burger. Only thing was the lady serving was SO SLOW! There was a huge queue and she was having a full on chat with people. We’re city folk so it may just be a rural thing but it took FOREVER!

A very picturesque spot with spectacular views of the Clarence river. Watch the dolphins swim past. Their pizzas and food are great with plenty of choice for all tastes. They have recently added food ordering by their QR code which makes life very easy when it is busy. No queuing for food just relax with a drink and food arrives at your table. A good spot for both families or couples, kids can buy fish food and have fun feeding the many fish around their pontoon. Worth a visit when in Yamba

Absolutely brilliant location and service second to none. This visit was with a large group of friends and we were made to feel very welcome. The food is excellent with a wide range of fresh produce being used to best advantage (I can’t recommend the Buffalo Wings highly enough for a snack) The beers are cold with a great range, what a great place to spend a Summer’s day with friends
