Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Positives. The setting was lovely, the two young men who served us (waiter and barman] were very friendly and welcoming, food was delicious. Negatives. While I do think their 90 minute booking limit is a reasonable time to enjoy a two course meal, it is...dependent on the restaurant not causing delays so you do get your full time to enjoy your meals. It took 10 minutes to be taken to our table. (The waiter actually said “Are you still waiting to be seated?) We had literally just finished our entrees - my sister was still in the process of putting her fork down - when our mains arrived. Since our entree dishes were still all over the table there was no where to put the mains, so they were taken back to kitchen while we waited for someone to clear the table. After 10 minutes my sister went and asked if this could be done, and the waiter came and took away the dishes. We then waited another few minutes for the mains. To be fair, the mains had been freshly cooked, not left sitting getting cold during this wait, and they were very good. By the time we’d finished our mains, our 90 minutes were up, but we hadn’t had coffee. There were by then a few empty tables so I went to the bar, pointed out the time issue and asked if we had time for coffee. The barman checked the computer and said yes, we could. I’d just returned to the table when an older woman, possibly the manager, came up and told us that our time was up and we’d have to leave. I told her that I’d checked with barman if we had time for our drinks and he’d said we did. She quite aggressively replied “Well, he shouldn’t have”. But she agreed that we could stay long enough to drink them. She returned a few minutes later and said we really had to leave as there were people waiting. When we left there were still empty tables so we couldn’t see why the need to rush.More

We were visiting family from the UK and had arranged to go to this restaurant for lunch as a special treat. We arrived 45 minutes early and asked if we could have a drink whilst we waited for our table. This was clearly a massive...inconvenience to the staff who were visibly irritated by our request. Despite the terrace having plenty of room we were told we'd have to sit as 2 separate groups. We were catergorically told that moving 3 stools approximately 3 metres was 'against the restaurant rules' On booking the table online we were told that there was a minimum $40 spend per head - which seemed a little excessive. But we assumed this must mean that portion sizes and quality were exceptional. We were wrong! 6 of us ordered fish & chips.. what came to the table could have easily been mistaken for a children's meal! Basic presentation and measly portions. Tasteless frozen chips and small badly battered (soggy) fish goujons. A completely underwhelming and disappointing experience. Don't bother. If you want a great meal the area - Gnostic Manor, The Bay View or The Box on the Water will not let you down.More

A visitor from the UK I visited here with 2 friends. We were sat at a lovely table with a wonderful view. The staff member was friendly and explained the ordering system. We ordered the fish and chips and the seafood platter for 2. A...garden salad and some water for the table and some drinks. The water was room temperature so a little disappointing. The fish and seafood platter were good but the chips were a funny yellow colour which maybe I'm not used to being from the UK but they were not pleasant. The oysters on the platter were on the small side but everything else tasted good (bar the chips on the platter) The sauces that accompanied the food really let the side down. They tasted cheap and nasty.More

Foodservice was terrible! (4) people ordering (5) entrees for (3) and 1 diner ordering a fried swordfish and chips main. All entrees came quickly but the main fish meal came out grilled (not fried as per the menu sighted) and it arrived when everyone else...were near finishing their meals despite a request to chase up the one outstanding order! The waiter was also removing finished meals whilst my main was being consumed! A disaster. We were introducing our ‘foodie’ friends to the restaurant but none of us will be returning (the cook did apologise but quite frankly, not good enough) Business is tough - the owners would not be happy with this sub standard delivery.More

We are locals and have eaten here many times. I find it so disappointing every time I visit - hoping it will be better as this place has so much potential. The food offering is over priced - no 2 ways about that. We booked...a table for 6.45pm on a Saturday evening, we ordered our starters and drinks (via a QR Code), these arrived promptly just after 7pm and were fine (2 starters and 3 drinks = $100). Waiting staff were keen to take the menus from our tables and we told them on several occasions that we intended to order more food (we were trying to pace ourselves). Close to 7.25pm, we decided to order our next course only to be told “that is a problem as the kitchen is closed”!!! Imagine our surprise - no one had told us that the kitchen would close by 7.30pm on a Saturday night. The waiter checked with the kitchen who confirmed the fryers had in fact been turned off and they could only do oysters or cold prawns. As we’d already had ceviche - we didn’t want another cold meal. Thank you - we would move on. Soooo very disappointing. Come on Fisherman’s Wharf Woy Woy - you can do better. Make the most of the fantastic fresh produce you have (we’ve never had any issue with the fish we buy from your market shop - its first class), tweak your pricing structure and maybe you’d get more happy customers into your beautifully decorated restaurant to enjoy the lovey location.More

Great spot. But a $40 minimum spend, very ordinary food and less than ordinary customer service. An underwhelming experience. My third visit and won't be going back.

What a gem. We got the fishmans basket. Wow it was delicious. There was a bit of a wait for our food as they were busy. There’s a playground for children to have a play. There was plenty of seating.

Very disappointing. When you are paying premium prices - $30 an entree and $50 a main - you would expect a decent level of customer service and experience. Nope not here. The experience was rushed and unpleasant, and the customer service lacking. They set the...scene from the start - a long email you get sent after you book outlining all their rules. And it doesnt improve from there. The staff didnt seem to be enjoying their job. $50 mains were simply dumped on our table without any care who ordered it. Even at the local tavern the staff will have the decency to ask who ordered the 20 dollar snitty when they bring it out. And when staff did interact with us it was awkward - twice they came over during our meal to question the validity of our gift voucher we used (you have to prepay for everything), and another time to remind us that we had to leave soon as our alloted 90 mins was almost up. We got so frustrated with the drink service - we could see our (prepaid) drinks sitting on the counter for long periods - that we started getting up and getting them ourselves. Oh and you have to open your own bottles of champagne. My advice is to spend your hard earned cash elsewhere. Go to one of the many local cheap and cheerful restaurants where you will get a warm and friendly experience.More

A word of advice STOP taking bookings at 2:15 and then expect people to be out by 3:45. We were rushed out of the place and I won’t be returning

I've visited this place three times before, but the customer service this time was extremely disappointing. The rudeness of the lady (? owner or service crew) at the restaurant i was unacceptable. Thumps up to the cashier guy who was very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant food is sensational. It is the best seafood restaurant I have ever experienced. The decor, views and friendliness of the staff are world class. For those wanting take away there is a great choice of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. There’s outdoor...tables and chairs available to customers. There’s also the option of buying fresh seafood to take home. Absolutely a must for those living on or visiting the Central Coast.More

Unless you plan to spend $40 per head don’t bother as that is their stipulation… to be told a minimum cost is plain rude. Have been here a few times before but no longer will they get our business.
