Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a revisit after a couple of years. We arrived early and really enjoyed the original dining room with fireplace which looks just like a really good English Pub to us. Staff were friendly and efficient prices just right for seniors which we are....... very!!!! Will certainly be back - with friends!More

I booked/ paid for 3 nights with my 14 yo son for a family reunion, on the 19th -22 January 2024 ,months in advance ,only to walk into our room to find 1 bed , then realised the TV didn't work 2 staff members came...to the room but couldn't get it to work ,I was then told by staff they would replace the TV tomorrow, and couldn't transfer me to another room due to being booked out that day. On day 2 late afternoon I went to the main bar asking about the replacement TV , only to be offered a $50 refund and was told I would be moved to another room and that they had to order a TV, Um Kmart is 600 meters away !!! , , Nor did the manager ever approach me about the situation or the staff that I dealt with over the TV situation. So 3 full days /nights without a TV for my child , the room had mould around the glass doors that lead onto the dirty verandah that also had weeds growing out the concrete ,and spider webs on the curtain rods , Cockroachs running all over the bench and toilet at night , And No microwave in the room ,More

My experience at the Bayview Hotel in Woy Woy was a bit of a mixed bag. I had heard great things about this place a couple of years ago when the previous owner renovated and made it more family-friendly. The pub had a fantastic reputation,...and I had high hopes for my visit. However, it seems like things have changed since then. One of the highlights of this place was the food. The menu always had good options, and I was eager to try some of their dishes. Unfortunately, the overall quality and experience have taken a hit since the change in ownership. The food was not bad, and it had all the trimmings you'd expect, but there was a significant downside. The dishes were served cold or at best lukewarm, which was disappointing for a meal that should be served piping hot. Another aspect that left a lot to be desired was the service. The open kitchen concept is usually interesting, but it became a nuisance here. The kitchen staff, who seemed to be speaking in an Indian dialect, had loud conversations that were quite audible in the dining room. While I respect cultural diversity, the constant chatter made it hard to have a peaceful meal. It felt like the staff were more focused on their conversations than on their duties. All the staff appeared to have an Indian background, which is not an issue for me at all. However, they didn't seem to make eye contact, kept their conversations going while I was ordering, left tables uncleared, and when they were cleared, they were not properly cleaned. They seemed to do the very bare minimum of what one would expect from hospitality workers. To make matters worse, the staff's constant use of mobile phones and their tendency to look at them frequently made it even more challenging to catch their attention. In summary, the Bayview Hotel, Woy Woy, used to be a great pub a couple of years ago, but it has lost some of its charm and quality since changing hands. The food, though tasty, is served at a less than desirable temperature. The continuous chatter in the open kitchen, the inattentive and unengaged staff, and their frequent mobile phone usage all contribute to a less-than-pleasant dining experience. While the Bayview Hotel might still have potential, it currently falls short of expectations.More

It's the done up pub, no old features, just snazzy brick and new tables. Nothing really special and the outdoor area is right by the main road, but it's certainly a change from the old school Woy Woy Hotel yet somehow has reasonable beer prices,...unlike the Woy Woy.More

Great for lunch.....do not visit at night. Look out for the manager, he might hide things. You can't get a taxi from the street...because they don't pick from the hotel at night for a reason. Stay away from this pub no matter how good you...think it looks.More

we hadn't been here for about 2 years but went back as we had enjoyed previous visits. The garden area was a bit chilly the day we visited so dined in the front restaurant. wanted a simple Pub meal so selected steak and chips, salad. steak...was over cooked to the point of being inedible, left it onthe plate and the chips ,while hot weren't browned at all, In a word ,TERRIBLE. .we had previously been here a number of times but won't bother againMore

Great atmosphere and value. Variety of meal options and facilitated our BYO cake. Only suggestion would be for more efficient clearance of used plates.

Woy Woy has needed a place like this for a long time. Frankies is upstairs at the Bayview. It is a cocktail bar/Japanese fusion. It has a nice outlook over the water. All the dishes we tried were beautiful but the fried chicken was a...amzing. Big thankyou to the friendly staff.More

Used to like heading to Bayview for a meal but very dissatisfied and dissapointing under new ownership. Appreciate Sunday busy but when I let know that need to keep any eye on grill as my burger meat was burned inedible and almost impossible to cut...off the unburned meat I was dismissed by some grey haired bloke behind the counter being told kitchen is fine. Very rude. Also if you are looking to use your dine voucher here STAY AWAY. Tried to use to them as on list but told not doing anymore and new owners aware but have done nothing about it so as far as I am concerned they are intentionally misleading potential customers to get them through the door. Shame on you. On a positive note Glenda and Linda great employees who know good customer service. Can't say the same about the other two I had contact with.More

Went for lunch and enjoyed it. Had the seafood plate and thought good value. Only part I didn’t enjoy was the battered fish was overcooked, but very generous portions. The wine list is a bit average and could do with updating and out some Hunter...Valley wines by the glass, seeing quite local. Service was super friendly, even staff checking us in and bar staff very helpful and friendly.More

Booked for a couple of nights for work. They tried to charge me more than I booked for and only changed their mind when I showed them the confirmation email. I didn't get the queen ensuite - I got a room full of other beds....Most distressingly, it was a room next door to the compressors for the pub's refrigeration. It was like a truck periodically starting up all through the night. The mattress was terrible, the TV tiny and the wardrobe full of other things like pillows, blankets and ironing board. Nothing to recommend this venue.More

My first semi negative review on trip advisor unfortunately. Food was expensive for bistro food and staff gave the impression it was a real chore to have to serve it’s customers. Sorry Bayview hopefully things improve but I can’t recommend this bistro based on today...visit.More

Casual. No tank tops for men, no 'stubbie' style shorts. In other words, if your Mum thinks you're looking under dressed to leave the house, then get changed. Dress shorts, Polo shirt will do.
