Menu included traditional options and some interesting additions, we ordered quite a few meals and all were very good including Japanese style tuna, soft shell crab, snapper etc. Local fish and hand cut chips, fairly priced and cooked with care. Well done team!

Small and clean with a diverse fish based menu. A broad selection of Aquarian products- more than just ordinary old fish and chips. Their chips are handmade.
The meals were served for takeaway in clean boxes which kept the food hot all the way home. A good range of make up boxes makes it easy to choose. Good stuff (and it was quick too)

This place has the best fish and chips I’ve had for years. We visited twice while staying in Woolgoolga. The selection of fish is great and we tried different fish each visit and both times it was terrific. They have hand cut chips which are delicious and if you get a fish pack there is a massive amount of chips. The service was excellent and very quick. Can’t recommend this place enough.

White salt used to be amazing and had such a good name. The new owners are really letting it go, the food is sooo old and oily now and the staff behind the counter are always so dirty looking. It’s such a shame!

White Salt used to be our go too place to eat but over the past few months it has really gone downhill.
Prices have increased, portion sizes have decreased and lost the quality they used to have and they don’t even provide forks to eat your food with!!
Really not worth the money anymore and there are better and cheaper places to eat within a 3min radius!

Returned to this fish n chip shop after excellent previous take-aways. What a disappointment!
Not sure if business has changed hands since last visit but the quality of our meal had certainly gone downhill.
First of all our order was incorrect. As we added more salt in store noticed we had grilled fish not the battered we had ordered. So returned our order for it to be rectified. Not a problem. Within a few short minutes our order was ready????? We were surprised it was so quick and were told that “battered fish cooks quicker and than grilled.” ????
The upshot was that our meal was a big disappointment. While the fish was edible, the batter was a dark brown and the potato cakes so oily you could have wrung them out.
Won’t be back.

So nice to visit a bustling local business that can still manage to be polite and friendly to the customers local or not. As non meat eaters we were extremely impressed with out sweet potato wraps and amazing Greek salad from a fish and chip shop.... hats off you guys rock

The meals are so fresh and hot, and large servings. The quality of the barramundi and the calamari we had was top notch, and cooked perfectly. We also ordered the garden salad and thought it was a bit pricey until we saw it - it was a massive serving and included a variety of lettuces, sweet potato chips, sprouts, Japanese style ginger etc.

Come here all the time with family. Kindly asked young girl who served us for an extra box to share with our 88yo grandma. She said no worries. Food was called up by the ?owner? I politely said thank you and asked him nicely for a extra box. He was very hesitant, I asked for anything I could share the meal with. He exchanged an awkward smile with the younger sever and made me very belittled. White salt, if it’s too much for a spare box, please start charging $0.50 for a box - if that much of a drama. Very rude presentation after being so loyal. The calamari was bland, chips were very good but after that treatment, won’t be back.

Pathetic:
These guys need lessons in hospitality, proper marketing and customer relations.
They have boards out front advertising specials, but when ordered the staff don't make clear the advertising is purposely misleading. To get all one needs to know that each item needs to be ordered separately and an extra cost added!
Despite a dining in option, no water available to be had (but they will sell drinks).

This seafood is the best I’ve had in a long time and I was raised in fish and chip shops. The food is amazing - verging on the orgasmic!! Do yourself a big favour and go there - you won’t be disappointed. I had the green prawn special and my partner had the fish box for one.

We stop at White Salt every time we go to or through Woolgoolga. Max's fish is the best we've had, anywhere! Fresh, delicious and we never resist the tempura batter. The homemade potato cakes (scallops) are beautiful and today we had fish tacos for the first time and we're won over. A superb lunch, we'll get another visit in before we leave. Lots to choose from, so quick and so delicious.

So freakin tasty. A must when staying in Woolgoolga. A hidden gem. The soft shell crab and the spicy prawns are finger licking good. Beautiful fresh salad and yummy hand cut chips .

Best fish and chips ever , fresh , fresh , fresh !!
Grilled or battered ( light crisp batter ) and excellent hand cut chunky chips . All served with a smile from a friendly , enthusiastic team . Absolute value for money - not to be missed . Simply YUM !!

If you’re after fresh fresh, calamari etc with a superior “delicious” factor, White Salt is for you. Casual eat-in or takeaway. We had tempura flathead fillets, melt in your mouth whiting fillets, amazing calamari, fresh and moreish chips - and a really tasty side salad with a lovely dressing. We travelled here followed a recommendation - no one was disappointed!
