Back in Woopi for a holiday and once again had dinner at Sunset at Rivs and once again had an absolutely delicious meal. So happy the Gamberi pasta is permanently on the menu. Pizzas are perfection. We will definitely be back.

We arrived at around 8:00pm on a Saturday night and the place was pumping. We didn’t have a reservation but the waiter bent over backwards to squeeze us in. Authentic Italian food at a reasonable price, great service and a vibrant atmosphere; looking forward to...revisiting.More

On Saturday the 11th of February me and my gf went out for dinner on what became the most expensive and disgusting food experience I can record. We arrived at the restaurant at about 8pm on a saturday night, to our surprise the waiter told...us that he was going to check if the kitchen was still open, I looked around and notice the restaurant was empty with two blokes having drinks at the bar and a couple sit inside finishing dinner, the waiter then said it was ok for us to have dinner. We sat and in about two min a waiter came and rushed us to order as the kitchen was closing in 10m, that was a sign right there that I should have left, I mean on a saturday night at 8pm restaurant closing, never a good sign. But let's talk about the dinning... We were told before sitting that they had two specials; a beef sirloin and a fish steak, we ordered both specials and a burrata salad to start. The waiter came back apologized and said they ran out of the fish, I was surprised how they could offer that as a special and run out of it at 8pm in an empty restaurant on a Saturday night. We then ordered the fish pasta (they were also out of the linguini), when I heard the chef arguing with the waiter demanding us to pick pizza instead of anything else. I was astonished how a chef can dictate what I eat is beyond me, just tell us next time you are closed!!! The burrata was served without sharing plates, I would understand if they were busy but that was not the case at all, then our wine, still no sharing plates. I then looked around and noticed that all the staff were seated at the bar having their meals while we were having ours, making our experience very unpleasant. The food was terrible, the steak was full of nerves and almost no meat, left 40% out on the plate, pasta and the calamari were frozen.  Paid an heafy $130 bill , will never be back again and hope they change for future guests.More

Four of us decended on the Sun Set Room for dinner. We were greeted at the door and ushered to our pre booked table. The ambience is great and our waiter, a Lovely smiling girl from Taiwan was delightful. Unfortunately it was an introductory training...night for a number of young people, and they were wearing anything. The bar man was too busy chatting them up, not being very professional. Meanwhile the plates sat on the kitchen serving ledge going cold. We had to ask for water which was given, a glass each, rather than a cold bottle on the table. The wine list was ridiculously priced, way too expensive and should have included a house range at a more reasonable price. THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! I do recommend this restaurant however the manager/ owner has to take charge of the staff, they need to be more professiona and customer focused.More

The Sunset Room was reccommended to us by a number of Whoopie locals as a good local restaurant. The Sunset room is composed of a a very warm and welcoming bar- servery with paintings and photos in a tropic theme on the walls This area...spills out to an outdoor area and with more seating in the arcade adjoining the bar. We chose the outside area, soaking in the balmy breezes at that time of the year. The menu was decidedly Italian with a good variety of interesting pasta and pizza dishes. I decided on the Seafood risotto dish and my wife had the pasta with spanner crab. We preceded this with fresh oysters and cocktails, no complaints there. The main meals were exceptional. Tons of flavour , fresh ingredients led to us shaking our heads in enjoyment of the sicilian chefs handy work. And also not forgetting the brilliant service we received from Jana made this a very memorable night indeedMore

My husband & I went for our anniversary dinner. They completely forgot my entree. I asked if the seafood pasta had bacon. I was told “no” by the waitress. When my dinner arrived I asked a different waitress if I could see bacon in the...sauce she said “ no, it was a special shaved seafood “. Not convinced I asked the owner who then said “yes” it was bacon & blamed the mistake on undertrained staff. There are only a dozen items on the menu. Maybe train your staff on the ingredients in your dishes. Or, the waitress could have checked with the chef if she didn’t know. So disappointed, went home with take away from White Salt.More

We had a brilliant meal at the small and character-filled Sunset Room. All four of us loved our appetizers (calamari, burrata salad), mains (best seafood risotto ever!) and desserts (we had all of them). We also had numerous cocktails and mocktails and the special cocktail,...a blueberry/gin concoction, is something i've already tried to re-create. It turns out that Woolgoolga is a blueberry-growing haven. It's rare to find such a special place, where the food, drinks and atmosphere are exceptional, outside of a big city. Like Woopi in general, Sunset Room is a gem.More

Jana was an excellent host. The recommendations of garlic prawns and the potatoe and Italian sausage pizza were perfect. Quality was very high, better than most Italian restaurants in Sydney. The chef is Italian and has owned many restaurants in Sydney prior to retiring in...Woopi and serving great food in a small intimate setting. Thoroughly enjoyed!!! Thanks.More

A little expensive for a small bar in a tiny town. It has no view, and it's not in a particularly great area, so it was a bit dear.

Food was nice. Our waitress was lovely. However one of the reception staff was really nasty. My husband and brother-in-law from Sydney heard it, as did other customers. She lost her temper very quickly when I asked if we could sit inside. She was scary....I feel worried that she might be on reception if we go again, so am not inclined to go back. I did think of leaving but we stayed. I mentioned the incident and which staff member it was to the female owner when we paid at the end. It was a really upsetting experience!More

We went for a birthday dinner this week and it was my first time going and I was a tad excited due to not getting out (this whole year) and I heard they had great cocktails. The ambiance and decor is uber cool - did...not expect that in little beach village of Woopi. It felt like a tucked away little gem and you could see a lot of thought went into creating the place. We sat out on the covered balcony in big padded chairs with a gentle breeze, sipping on a large cocktail 🍹 for $16 which I thought was standard price and tasted great. Loved the bikinis 👙 welcome sign as it’s right near the beach and come as you may cheeky attitude. Service at the bar and table was excellent. Dinner was served without wait times and the fish soup was recommended and a standout. ($35) Rich tomato broth full of marlin, salmon, melt in your mouth calamari and spectacular prawns. Topped off on the side two crusty pieces of sourdough (one would never be enough) The marlin was fresh off the boat and the flavours made you want to lick the bowl. I would have it again without doubt! I couldn’t fit in dessert (which looked very pretty on the plates) but did finish off with an expresso martini which was mixed just right. A great night and look forward to going again.More

Food was good, service was very good. The cocktail makers was exceptional, the waitress are so friendly, the actual ambience of the place was lovely however I feel like they don’t appreciate your custom especially when the drink prices are a little higher then competition...and also being rushed out to close the restaurant I feel is very rude. Won’t be returning unfortunatelyMore
