Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Super-relaxed cafe in Wollombi where we had lunch on the balcony. Friendly service, sensible menu, great coffee, lovely ambiance. What more could you want from a country cafe?

I've been her two times now. It's a fair drive for us, but itso worth it. Their Myrtle burger is amazing and went with cheesecake this time. Wow The owners and staff are amazing, and the location is perfect

This cafe has it all. Great location, gorgeous building, friendly staff and most importantly amazing food. Quality is their trademark. We were only there for the delicious scones, baked on the premises and served with real cream and home-made jam. However we can't wait to...go back, stay a night and sample the meals also. The menu is so inspired. Make this gem a destination if you're in the Hunter.More

This cafe is a jewel in the middle of a beautiful old historic town in the Cessnock area. We only had morning coffee and scones but we could see that they had superb breakfasts and lunches also. On a Lovely sun drenched verandah on a...cold day, we had a great coffee and home cooked fresh scones with real home made cream and jam - great service and friendly staff …go there for a day from Newcastle, Central Coast or Sydney. Had lunch at this great cafe today , again, as it has a great country ambiance sitting on the front deck. The food was very delicious , I had the Myrtle burger with egg and chips and my partner had the poached eggs on sourdough...with bacon ,mushrooms and avocado as well as great coffee and served by the very friendly and interesting Angus and the team there. Remember your in the country and the pace of life is more relaxed, so sit back and enjoy it and the food whilst you’re there.More

Visitors from Melbourne just driving through this lovely historical village. We enjoyed great coffee and danish pastries on the verandah tables. A very quiet place during the week. Lovely staff and quick service. Meals looked beautiful. This place of the beaten track but worth the...stop over.Surroubded by historical buildings and a walk to gallery and the old historical buildings and graveyard.More

Had a fantastic feed at the Myrtle. In fact, had 2. Ended up having breakfast and dinner here. Both meals were really good and the staff are extremely friendly. Marley and Casey are amazing hosts too. And the menus accomodate all dietary requirements. Definitely give...the tapas a try on the weekends for dinner. Food was delicious! Many thanks to the team at the Myrtle. See you again soon!More
