Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Im a person who appreciates quality food and impeccable service. Bernties fulfils both. Pleasantly surprised that the happy hour drinks and thereafter are affordable and tantalising. We stayed for Happy hour and then dinner over 2 nights. Staff are friendly and service is beyond what...we get here routinely in Australia. We'll done we will be back. Do yourself a favour and visit soon summer or winter.More

We ate at Berntis and enjoyed the experience so much we returned the next night! The Calamari and 250gm ribeye were standout dishes along with one of the best spicy margaritas ive layed my lips upon . all though quite expensive once the food came...we understood why, it was extremely busy, but the staff seemed to work like a well oiled machine both nights! hats off the the bar staff and manager Si you made our weekend and we will definitely be back!!!More

Awful Experience. The food quality, coupled with its overpriced nature, left much to be desired. Despite the high prices, the dishes lacked the expected standard, which was disappointing. Service was noticeably slow, hinting at a lack of preparedness for the Ultra Marathon Weekend. Some of...our food was forgotten and mains took over an hour and a half to appear. Moreover, pricing the ribs at $60 in a setting that doesn't boast fine dining attributes is simply outrageous. The uninviting behaviour of the manager overshadowed any potential positives, making us feel unwelcome. It was apparent that his limited skills in handling busy nights significantly impacted the overall dining experience. He was simply rude not flustered. For a more pleasant and reasonably priced meal, the Mexican restaurant next door offers a far more enjoyable dining atmosphere.More

We were in Thredbo to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday and we chose to eat at Bernti’s restaurant. I’m an oldish lady so I can’t eat too many calories so I ordered the tofu plate and my husband ordered a steak. He was drinking beer...so asked for some bread to buffer the alcohol while we waited for the mains. The beer and bread came out promptly and we waited over half an hour for the mains until I finally asked for our food. After a further ten minutes, our food finally was served. My husband’s steak was perfectly done and he loved it but my tofu dish was awful. It looked like it had been cooking on the grill for all the 40 minutes. It was strange because the table next to us came in after us and was given two courses before I had any food at all. The main waiter tried to make it right, he offered me other food, drinks, dessert free of charge, but I was so hangry that it was a very negative experience. I’m still upset two days later in part because i couldn’t sleep I was so hungry. The restaurant seems set up to serve food a man would like but not what a light eater would like. My advice would be to hunt down the waiter after fifteen minutes and make sure that your food is coming—don’t wait patiently.More

We arrived before 2:00pm when the bar menu is available, but the guy working was super helpful and welcoming, settled us in and got our orders going, making sure we knew it would be 20 minutes or so because the kitchen wasn’t prepped yet. He...kept coming to check on our drinks and keep us informed, mind you we are talking about a wait of only 20 minutes, it was super impressive. Bar menu food was great.More

We had a table of 8 booked (two families) in the upstairs grill room and happily changer our booking to the downstairs bar at the last moment. The atmosphere was great, without being too rowdy & the sports memorabilia decor tasteful . There was a...great selection of craft beers on tap & in bottles / cans. The wine list was good and not overly pricey for the mountain village. Service staff were great, attentive without being too present & accommodating to requests for minor menu changes etc One of our best nights out over the week’s stay in the village.More

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences we ve had in many years. It was almost comical, if it had not been the for the hefty bill and the wasted opportunity to go elsewhere for our final night in Thredbo. Our arrival was met with...staff who completely ignored us then pointed towards a table that I’d booked weeks before, after reading positive reviews. The food was average - don’t bother with the garlic prawns swimming in a pool of tasteless cream. The ‘sourdough’ it claims to accompany it is nothing more than dinner roll from a ‘cook your own’ section from coles. Our kids selected pasta from the kids menu, which included a soft drink and an ice cream. Restaurant tried to charge us for the drinks and never cleared our dirty plates, get the kids their dessert or ask if we d like another drink. I ended up just hot footing it to the bar and requesting to pay. There are some fabulous places to eat with wonderful staff in Thredbo. Sadly Bernti’s isn’t one of them.More

We have been enjoying dinner here for many years however this year we were very disappointed and may not return. Whilst the service was good, the food was incredibly disappointing and no where near previous standards. Kids meals incredibly expensive considering standard of the meal.

Friendly service, cosy atmosphere, lovely view of the mountain from the outdoor seating. We enjoyed the pork belly bites with the fried rice and shared between two, and for dessert the basque cheesecake. Whilst expensive (no more than other local eateries), these dishes were excellent.

group of three at at Zacks Bar and Grill for dinner. Started off with some garlic bread. For entree I had the Hoisin Belly Bites which were very nice and not too filling. For mains I had the Prawn Linguine. I wanted the pork belly...but it wasn't available. The linguine was very nice, tasty, and a reasonable size. For dessert I had an Affagato. The service was good although they did seem a bit short staffed. A number of items on the menu were not available, and the staff were apologetic. The restaurant surrounds were nice and this is one of the better eateries in Thredbo I have been to. Recommended for a pleasant night out.More

From start to finish our dinner experience was exceptional. The service and food were impeccable. We loved it so much we booked again a couple of nights later. Their steak selection next level. To make the experience perfect was the view from our table. Thanks...guys for a great experience. After dinner we had drinks in the wonderfull bar next to the fire place. Warm and friendly with the best cocktails on the mountain sitting next to the fire. We loved it. See you again next year!More

Recently dined at Zack's Grill. I knew what I was up for price-wise, but while the food was good, it didn't match the price tag. What let the night down was the peripheral touches. Our table had obviously be used prior to our sitting. The...white linen tablecloth that other tables had was non existent. We had paper napkins. My steak knife was delivered from the opposite side of the table and not placed with the other cutlery. All meals were delivered in the same manner, from the one side of the table. Certainly not fine dining practices.More
