Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are staying at the hotel with breakfast included. Buffet breakfast as usual and was quiet substantial. I had a omelette made for myself which was slightly undercooked but was edible. Good variety but the first hotel I have been to that doesn’t serve straight...baked beans. They did have but was mixed with herbs etc. looking forward to the next 2 breakfasts to comeMore

Hi 98shanet, thank you for passing on your feedback around our buffet breakfast which has been passed onto our management team.

I stopped here while staying in the hotel. They offered a large selection on their buffet so I tried that. The best items were the fresh fruit. The bread/pastry was fairly dry and did not seem fresh. They had hot food - eggs, sausage, bacon....I tried the eggs and sausage. I also tried some of the cold salmon and cheese. The bacon was quite soft and did not appeal to me visually. I ordered coffee (not part of the buffet) and also had orange juice and water. The buffet of course is self service and you could get additional juice or water for yourself when wanted. The staff was friendly and the setting was lovely. But the fare was just ok.More

We went here in November for our anniversary as we got married at the Crowne Plaza and the food was amazing at our wedding reception. Expecting the same quality, we were given very tiny meals, which a lot of people have mentioned, but the flavour...was non-existent. Lucky the lamb had a sauce with it to add some flavour but when you spend $180 on food and drinks and are still hungry, it's pretty poor. Not sure what has happened in the last 5 years unless you will blame the poor food on COVID like everyone else does. Went to Pocket Bar and got some spring rolls that were way more filling and tasty than here. Will never go back.More

All tables are by the windows for dinner with great views. Service was excellent with quick service and quick meals. The food was nice (we both had Barramundi) but the portion was tiny and only with small amount of broccolini so was really expensive and...we were still hungry. We also ordered the polenta chips of which there were 6 of them (for $11). Whilst it was nice I wouldn't go again for that cost. No chicken meals... all steak or seafood.More

Two meals: both actually inedible and at $40 a main, a total rip-off. Doubt there was a chef in the kitchen as impossible to believe any qualified chef could be responsible for such slop on a plate. 'Homemade Gnocchi' was a soggy brownish congealment floating...in a sea of lukewarm cream. 'Chickpea ragu' was canned crushed tomatoes and can of chickpeas dumped together. In hindsight, we should have refused to pay - but took pity on the waitress who was run ragged and did her best. Crowne Plaza - you need to fix as major fail for your resort.More

My gnocchi was burnt and in a swimming pool of cream ...cold cream ...with dry herbs spread around ...it simply looked like someone had regurgitated their food....my sister meals of was definitely out of two cans!!! Last night with my daughter and husband went to Sea Salt restaurant to order two sea food platters. The four of us were very disappointed with the presentation and Quality & quantity of the platter. 3 grilled prawns for 2 people, smoked salmon was missing...and the soft shell crab which tasted like Kentucky fried chicken. I will not go on, all I can say it is nothing like your restaurant served a couple of years ago which was beautiful. With the hot platter we even received small dishes with chips & vegetables. I am not sure yet where I will go next time for a seafood platter, definitely not Sea Salt restaurant.More

Breakfast here was incredibly frustrating. Started with pancakes… went to get accompanying fruit, but so many empty bowls! Waited, waited… well, until the pancakes were cold. After asking about 5 servers, the fruit was finally restocked. Only took about half hour! Pastries - well, who...wants those? They stop restocking those about an hour before breakfast officially ends. The cheese plate sounds fancy, but it was NEVER full. Not once that I saw at least. I guess people just assume that it’s ‘temporarily’ low. And no, we weren’t late. We arrived at 9:30 and had to wait to get in. Coffee took an hour to arrive so clearly they were still busy. Or just incompetent. Who knows? I’m sure many still like this buffet, but it’s not luxurious, hard work and over priced in my opinion.More

I will first acknowledge that we were a big group and that Covid may of affected staff training. But these above reasons can’t excuse the blandness and disappointment in the food. So obviously in a a large group, a set menu is required and really...not a bad range of options. But those options may of been described intricately and more elaborate than what was on the plate, especially for taste and lack effort. The chef may really need to consider seasoning the Lamb and using a bit higher quality of accompaniments that are on the plate, especially for the prices charged. Service was inadequate for the group and some didn’t even follow the known rules of table service. Drinks were slow and communication was almost non-existent.More

I was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews on this restaurant but we ate each morning here and it was lovely, plus dinners. There is a new autumn menu and it was beautifully cooked and presented. I had the soft shell crab, which was...lovely but a little spicey for me, but it was still delicious. My husband had the oysters three ways, he loved them. I had the crudos tasting plate, delicious. I had the duck and he had barramundi. Both were delicious. I tried the lamb on another night, melted in your mouth. The service is superb. The wait staff are attentive and very helpful. I cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough. I don't know whether it was because our visit was mid week or not, but I couldn't fault the food or service here.More

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza on a mini break without our kids - our package included breakfast at Seasalt and it was certainly more than what we were expecting. Usually Hotels like this would have the stock standard buffet situation which is always lovely,...but here you get a menu where you choose things like Eggs Benedict and smashed Avo! Before we had breakfast however, we actually had dinner on our first night and it definitely didn’t disappoint either, the food was amazing!More

Me and my partner thought it would be nice to have the seafood platter for 2 on our romantic date night. Order the seafood platter for 2 and the coke plate comes out first the prawns where soft and not fresh and had a bit...of a smell, well I moved past that and went to the oysters and the first one stunk really bad. I told the head waiter, they then come back to me and stated the chef is unable to come talk to you but would you like anything else obviously I refused and more more food. They even made me pay for the drink my partner and I had. Got home around 10pm from dinner at 7:30pm and I was already getting stomach pains and ended up still awake at 12am onwards vomiting for about an hour! Never have I felt so sick so quickly from what was supposed to be a great night! Rememberable night for all the wrong reasons! Never ever would I recommend this venue to eat at!More
