Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A Terrigal/central coast icon and justifiably so. My wife and I went there for lunch and whilst the menu is somewhat limited, every course was a delight. Throw in panoramic views over Terrigal and along the coast and it’s hard to fault this fabulous eatery.

Fabulous new winter menu just had to try it out. It was a last minute booking and we very lucky to be welcomed in. My hubby had the Prawn ravioli with scorched prawns and Octopus. I was a bit jealous it looked delicious and he...says I was right to be jealous he loved it.i am a big cheese fan so I couldn’t pass on the Goats cheese tart and onion tart, in individual pastry cases that were very light and did not take from the flavours of the cheese and the onion. We both opted for the Duck breast roasted grapes and it was divine. I’m not going to tell you any more so you’ll have to go and try it out. Book in advance if you want a balcony seat the view is superb but then so is the food so you won’t be disappointedMore

An absolute gem. The care of the team in preparing the food and every single drink you need paired with it. Had expected to spend a leisurely couple of hours and left after 4. Must ask for a balcony seat as the view is exquisite....New menu was launched this week and the char grilled octopus / prawn combo was great. Will returnMore

The food is only just OK, nice presentation and imaginative ingredients but ends up being unremarkable and rather tasteless. Service, ambience and wine list were OK but we need more than that. I think they try hard but it doesn't compare to a restaurant like...Yellowtail down the road. Also difficult to park being in a residential area and on a fairly major and narrow road.More

Whilst this is probably one of the more expensive restaurants in the Terrigal area, it is one of our favourites because of the reliable quality of the food and the wine. On this occasion we, four of us, chose one of the “degustation” options, with...accompanying wines. Expensive, but absolutely superb. Service, excellent, as expected of the staff at this venue.More

Such a lovely restaurant. It was our first time and everything was amazing. Food is exceptional, decent wine list and good service. The view is phenomenal, especially from the room off the main dining area we were seated in. The only thing that tarnished it...a little was the manager (I hope not) in the mask who told the staff at the end of an obviously busy day to keep the noise down in a very rude manner. We didn’t hear them be noisy but we certainly heard your shrill voice. We thought the staff were friendly and fantastic.More

My family loved everything and felt truly spoilt. The food was delicious, even the kids ate everything and that’s rare! A little pricey but that’s what you expect from a restaurant of this style. There is something for everyone on the menu and we tried...as much as we could. Our server, older lady with glasses - don’t know her name sorry, was amazing. She spoke directly to the children and made them feel special. Nothing was too difficult and her sense of humour was refreshing. Don’t change a thing. It works and we can’t wait to come again.More

Thank you for all the answers. I love the food at the Cowrie, but agree it is probably not a great place to take young children.
