Had lunch here today. What a delightful restaurant. Stunning views and great food. It is a small place so bookings are necessary. Set 2 or 3 course meals with a glass of wine included. Lovely food and great service. Highly recommend.

Drove up from Sydney for a Day trip and took a punt on this restaurant based on the menu and the promise of views. My husband cooks as well as a chef, so we always feel disappointed if the meal isn’t better than what he...can serve up. This place didn’t disappoint. The twice-baked Gorgonzola soufflé was a standout, as was the liquorice semi-Fredo with caramelised pineapple dessert. Along with the jumping mullet at Point Frederick, it was overall a memorable day.More

If you don’t want to do it, don’t do it. Clearly serving people stresses you, life’s to short. Go and do something You enjoy. Because hospitality if you aren’t enjoying It, becomes a slippery slope

Although the food was flavorful, mine and one others meat came out over cooked. We had a vegan and vegetarian on our table and there was no meal options for them apart from the pork belly main without the pork which was extremely lack luster...for them both! Our waitress was quite rude and seem frustrated that we had dietary requirements around the table even though we called in a head of time to make sure that there would be options for those requirements. This will most definitely be our last visit to the Cowrie.More

Have been twice. Once with my girlfriend and once with my wife (they are the same person, we want on a date, then got married and went back. lol). The staff are amazing. The food is always incredible. The view is to die for. Parking...can be a frustration, and I wish they were open for dinner on Sunday, but otherwise, perfect.More

The food was good and the restaurant has beautiful views, BUT the air conditioning spoilt the atmosphere. The aircon wasn't cooling the area where we were seated and it was a very humid day. The staff saw me fanning myself but did not care that...we were uncomfortable. We had to ask repeatedly if the aircon was working. Had we not asked, they would not have done anything about it. There was a lack of proper customer service as the staff showed no consideration for this elderly couple. This ruined our experience of an otherwise lovely restaurant.More

This is a restaurant that I take my friends to when they come to visit. There is always something for everyone, the meals are amazing, the service always excellent but relaxed. The setting and views overlooking Terrigal are lovely. Last weekend though, I became unwell...suddenly after ordering. The table staff went out of their way to help me. I could not be more happy with the way I was treated.More

My wife and I had dinner and the food was amazing. The view is also great and the set menu has plenty of options. My wife is coeliac and they were happy to tweak dishes where required. Highly recommended

This is the second time we're visiting the Cowrie, after many years, and it was even better than our memory. Very pleasant and efficient staff, subdued atmosphere, spectacular bay view, all put us in the right mood. The food was delicious, from beginning to end,...and I actually disagree with other reviewers claiming it's expensive: the meal was excellent value for its quality. If you're a lover of good and fine food, this place is for you.More

I/We have been a few times over but the last 20 years and last time the service was extremely poor boarding on rude. There seemed to be some in fighting between the floor staff. Our waitress basically told us to hurry up and order because...she was busy. The food is always good but nothing outstanding and the deco is dated. The whole place needs a refresh and staff training.More

Thank you for all the answers. I love the food at the Cowrie, but agree it is probably not a great place to take young children.
