I never thought that I would have cause to write a positive review of The Cove after a completely disappointing experience some years ago, as local we swore that we would never return. Deemed The Cove to be a complete tourist trap, mainly for the...fantastic ocean views. I see by the most recent reviews that others have had similar negative experiences. So, when our daughter booked a table for 9 including kids and toddlers for Mother’s Day breakfast this morning- we went along with a great deal of apprehension. We were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of friendly but very, very busy staff. Meals, which were delicious and generous, including catering for kids and toddlers were served in a timely manner. Coffee which is a subjective test, because we are fussy was very good. In summary a very pleasant dining experience, thank you!More

Went there today for lunch, before we ordered I went to the mens room and after when I washing my hands a guy walked out of a cubicle after doing a crap and walked strait past me and out the door with me behind him...and if that wasn’t enough as he DID NOT wash his hands he walked strait back into the kitchen as he was staff 🤮🤮🤮 I went back to our table and let my wife know that we are leaving and why, cannot believe how anyone can be so un hygienic, especially preparing food for the public, bloody disgusting….I advised another staff member why we were leaving however the care factor seemed to be zero……..we went to the sports club across the car park and had a fantastic meal……More

We had a lovely lunch here today. You cannot book (unless you are a group of 10 or more) so we just hoped we could find a table. We did and it was nice. I had the bruschetta and it was lovely. Instead of the...usual chopped tomatoes and onions, it was halved heirloom tomatoes and feta. It also had bacon. It was delicious and I would have it again. My husband took the Korean burger and he wasn't a real fan. He will have the bruschetta as well next time. The service was lovely, really nice girls. Only one comment, could the cloth that the girls use to wipe the tables with be cleaned every so often? It was quite dirty.More

Wanted a quick, simple light lunch so placed an order for 2 pies. They call your name when ready, so I waited. And waited. And waited. In the meantime several others had placed their orders and were already enjoying their food. Big orders too. How...long should a couple of pies take? After 30 mins I wandered up to the kiosk "Hey where's my pies?". Mad scramble looking for my order. "Oh here it is, I'll let the kitchen know now." "nah, just give me my money back idiots." Seriously how hard is it to heat up a couple of pies? I just went home annoyed instead. What's more, they didn't even credit me the full value of the two pies. I paid $17.50 and they credited $16. Grrrr.More

Came and purchased lunch and two beers take away during lockdown. They sold the beers and didn’t advise they wouldn’t open beers on purchase. Then when we went to collect the meal we were advised alcohol free zone and they won’t open alcohol. If I...wanted to purchase beer unopened I would go to a bottle store, not buy beer at expensive restaurant prices Extremely dissatisfied and should have been told at time of purchase and I wouldn’t have bought. My father is Terrigal local and won’t be returningMore

Spent a wonderful morning last week while visiting from Adelaide. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The view was world class. A special thanks to Lachy who went out of his way to serve us. I would highly recommend this cafe to vegetarians and vegans...as the food was great. Bonsoy coffee also great.More

Great spot with good coffee and great service. If your having a break in Terrigal (and you should) then make sure this is a stop on your morning walk. Would also be a great spot to watch the local rugby union games on Australia’s best...places footy groundMore

Always thought the Cove Cafe had one of the world’s best views but the food was not special. But today’s battered hoki, homemade chips and perfect salad has changed that. I certainly can’t recall a better fish and chips anywhere, ever. It might sound like...a humble dish but there are so many ways of getting it wrong. Looking forward to trying other dishes again. Chef: please stay.More

The staff at this place could really try and be nice. The service was awful. Only the coffee was good. The food was horrible.

Great view, average service. Some of the food coming out looked pretty good but.... we ordered the Smashed Avo which came with poached eggs and what a disappointment! The avocado was smeared on and at $21 this was ridiculous. I might give them another go...but certainly won’t order that again.More
