We lunched here on Father's Day. The entrees (dumplings and duck spring rolls were very nice). My partner and daughter had meals involving schnitzels - both were cooked extremely well and the meals were very tasty. I had one of the beef burgers. Unfortunately the...thick meat patty was very overcooked (hard and dry). They were quite busy being Father's Day so this might be an unusual occurrence. The atmosphere is very inviting and it was interesting seeing all the halters of past champion thoroughbreds up on the walls. Also a nice beer garden out the back for those wanting to enjoy some fresh air.More

Meals were subpar for price. Told there would be 3 lamb cutlets for the price of 37 dollars but when dish was received there was only 2. Steak was also very fatty for 46 dollars. Young girl on counter when ordering food was very rude

Visited on a Friday evening - booked a table in advance Bar tender wasn’t very friendly and slow Restaurant staff were not friendly or helpful, the young girl on the til seemed to have very little idea what to do and barely spoke When I...mentioned the booking I was told “you can just sit anywhere”. We sat outside in the beer garden as there was a musician The flies were horrendous The chicken wings were dry and the chips were undercooked Despite the beer garden being full of young people, the musician played covers from the 70s and 80s Also… there was lipstick on my friends schooner glass Won’t be returning!More

I had the Pork Belly special which was very nice. Accompanied by nice perfectly cooked veggies. Nice atmosphere on a quiet night in Scone. Friendly and welcoming indoors with a very pleasant courtyard.

A lovely well restored pub with good food and a menu a little more impressive than usual. The meals were on the expensive side and not particularly large but very tasty. Was hoping to try some local wine but nothing available by the glass.

Nice enough country hotel in main drag in Scone but food is a big let down despite the best efforts of the two very young guys helping out in the ,kitchen. The menu was reasonable and there were a few dinners partaking of the food...on offer. To be fair the bangers and mash was pretty nice but that's where it ended. The vegetarian curry was quite poor and was served with the cauliflower florets cold, i mean cold as out of the fridge cold, not simply not warmed through. The meal was return after bringing the issue to the staffs attention only to be returned sometime later, same dish just microwaved to warm it up. Not replaced with a fresh offering and unfortunately with the cauliflower just off cold. This wasn't the end of the saga as the vegetarian curry included something decidedly or suspiciously like chicken. Bit of an issue if you are a practicing vegetarian. I would suspect the kitchen was using the same curry base for the Butter Chicken also on offer. This dish was also quite ordinary. The other very average dish was the homemade Pumpkin soap again not a winner. Given the prices of $28 and $32 for the curries, which is a decent Indian restaurant prices. I would hazard a guess the kitchen is currently endeavouring as best as able to continue service with staffing issues which unfortunately seems be a common issue in most areas. I wouldn't recommend this as a dining option and would be looking elsewhere in Scone if back through the area.More

The $36 steak was not medium rare in my opinion, poor cooking for an expensive piece of meat, see photos. The salad and chips were nice, as was my friend’s prawn linguine.

Took family for dinner whilst passing through Scone and thought it was great. Good service, food was above the standard pub grub and pub is a real gem. Good beer garden at the back and whilst the pub is old decent age, appears to be...well maintained with plenty of charm. Would return for sureMore

Great pub with lovely bistro, good beer on tap and wine choices. Ellie, the manager, a credit to the owner and herself. Helpful, funny, cheerful and nothing too much trouble. Josh, the waiter in the bistro, also great. What a relief after visiting the pub at the...opposite end of the street, they should send their staff here for training! Food delicious.Barramundi and fries, large, fresh fish in crispy batter and great fries with delicious tartare sauce. I had the wild mushroom and tarragon risotto, not a large portion, but delicious and creamy. Dining room, quirky and comfortable m full of atmosphere. Thank you to all, keep up the good work. To the boss, great choice making Ellie manager.More

This place was a last minute decider. We were going to stay else where in Scone, but it was fortunate for us that we stayed here instead. The accommodation is just perfect. A very old pub but done up in the most sophisticate, elegant way....So very tasteful. My partner and I just loved it. It had what we needed, and for me that is a kettle with cups and teaspoons. The room was immaculately cleaned as was the bathroom. I was talking to the housekeeper (sorry forgot her name), she was absolutely just friendly as was the rest of the staff there. Her and I had good little chat, it was nice. She must be the only or main cleaner there as she does most of it including the bar area. These rooms and bathrooms are just amazing. And price was great value. We were lucky to have our late check out accepted, as we arrived in Scone late that night. The light in the fire place was just special.More
