Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Under new management since the beginning of 2024. I had the Rib eye and it was to die for. The kind of steak that you use your fork to tear off a bite because the knife just makes a mess of it. I like my...steak rare but often order it medium rare because some chefs think that rare means pulled cold from the fridge browned on the outside and served with a cold centre. NOT here! It was an inch and a half thick, heated all the way through and cooked to a perfect rare! Congratulations chef, you’ve won my heart! Thank you! But I also need to tip my hat to the service too! It was professionally friendly without being forced. The location is awesome and the pub is clean and well maintained.More

What an absolute pleasure to dine here after a long drive from Queensland! It was one of the BEST pub experiences we’ve ever had. Georgia is an excellent host - friendly and welcoming. There was a big crowd in and she still managed to make...us feel like we were VIP’s. We had drinks outside and dined inside. So cosy. Superb atmosphere. Fabulous surroundings and ambience. Off the scale delicious food and so reasonably priced. Super service. What else can I say?! It was top notch. Lucky locals to have this place on their doorstep! The Linga Longa Inn is a must visit when you’re visiting the Hunter Valley.More

Because we didn’t book, it was the excuse they used that there was a wait - apart from the pre-orders they had. When ordering our food, which was before the pre-orders arrived, after 2.5 hours wait still no food! When asked about our order, every...excuse available as to why it was late. We were also told that we were advised that there would be a wait. We were not advised of a wait and to be honest who would wait 2 hours for food with a child. We got a refund for our non existent food but also a heap of excuses. Not happy with the service, nor the manager who really needs to address her organisation skills and manner towards the public. We will not be returning and will advise others not to visit there. Yes the location is beautiful but the owner is not. We did speak to the manager - not worth the effort!More

Family atmosphere for kids fantastic. We didn’t have children but could see why it’s a great spot to let kids be kids. Food was ok, typical hotel prices for alcohol, with the ‘wait’ service, water would of been a nice touch. When we asked about...coffee one waitress said it was turned off and when we got to the counter, machine was on-staff just not interested in making it. We ended up ordering coffee and it was bought to the table, waiter was confused over who had what, but we worked it out. Overall, nice to go-haven’t been there for a whileMore

Not your typical out-the-back country pub. A mix of history with a very modern re-do. Indoor and outdoor eating areas. The outdoor eating area is spacious, comfortable and just plain pleasant under the trees. Food was a really good standard, pleasant staff. Would recommend.

Lovely setting. Lots of tables and chairs, with shade outside the pub. Loads of lawn for the kids to run around. Cold beer, and top notch food. Wifi available. Great place to stop for an hour or 2.

Great spot for lunch. Food delicious and great selection of beers. Was a bit of a wait for meals but it was very busy and definitely worth the wait. One of the biggest schnitzel’s I’ve ever had!

Lovely lunch at this country pub, I can see why it’s so popular. Great food, good drinks selection, a variety of different seating options from inside by the fire to outside in the sun. Room for kids to run around on go carts and play...with toys with out disturbing anyone. A real gemMore

I have been wanting to try this pub for a long time. It was Ok, we didn't wait long for our meals, views are beautiful and the drive to get there is quite relaxing. I had the snitzel which was ok the salad was a...bit sad and full of the usual bagged spinach and greens, a wilted tomato and a few strands of carrot, the chips were fine, my hubby had the gourmet pie, peas and mash, and at the time he said that the pie tasted funny and salty, the peas were microwaved and shriveled up, so can't really recommend that. I only had snitzel as I remembered reading somewhere their snitzels were amazing, I've had better, it was ok, but repeated on me, so not sure what they cook it in. Well, I've been there now, won't be rushing back. It is a nice place to visit but I don't think the food is as great as it could be.More

I absolutely love going to small town pubs and supporting our tourists industry after 2020 with restrictions etc but I will not be returning to The linga longa Inn after waiting for a hour for a meal and people receiving there meals before us after...they order after us . I actually approached the staff and was rudely told the table of 30 etc had pre - ordered . My response was why didnt you tell us when we ordered ! Just extremely rude !!!! The bar staff and the manager ! Then to top it off a person who didn’t either know us told me the whole bar staff was having a little discussion about me ( you always get one in crowd ) ! Yes guys you pick the wrong person ! This will make the best story on my blog ! The tourism industry is screaming out for our support and you treat people like this! We would have sat there for hours supporting your business but instead we just felt we where not respected or heard !More

We had driven past Linga Longa many times on the way to the Barrington Tops. However a lunch stop was well worthwhile from the attentive friendly staff to the excellent choice of meals. Great cold drinks and a good choice of wines. The new renovation...is excellent and it's rare to see a pub as clean and tidy as this one. Lots of room for the kids outside makes this a perfect country pub.More
