Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This has to be the busiest shop in Pambula and it’s easy to see why. The coffee is good as are the cakes. Wild Rye has a good selection of pies - their mushroom, lentil and pumpkin (yep all in one pie) is pretty good as is their steak and kidney. Wife insists I mention the blue cheese and cauliflower pie. They have a website that will give you the full range. Being a bakery, there is a selection of breads. I recommend their huge pizza base which is great for a D.I.Y pizza at home. The queue often lines up outside the door. Be patient - it’s worth the time.

While holidaying through the region, we came across this amazing place. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The service was quick, even though they were busy. I had a steak and kidney pie and my wife had a cheese and spinach pastie, both were amazing, fresh and moist. I would say the coffee was the best we had in the area. Don't miss this gem on your travels.

This was a busy bakery both days we visited Pambula, which indicates their bakery items must be pretty good. We only bought a loaf of stone ground sourdough and yes, it was really nice. The staff were friendly and there was a large choice of items. I’ll go there again.

Love the pies, pastries and fruit loaf and will readily join the long holiday queues. However, the inivtingly large sausage rolls were very disappointing. On first bite, it was clearly very little sausage, tasted more like mushy recycled bread and was completely tasteless. Even lashings of tomato sauce won't hide the fact that these are sub par with other WR offerings. Bring back the sausage, or just call them bread rolls!

I was looking forward to having a pastie and sausage roll at this bakery. We had been led to believe that it was really good. The pastie was below average and a sausage roll were in the category of the worst I’ve ever had. I am A fine connoisseur of the sausage roll having sampled them at bakeries all over Australia. It is difficult to find a good one and unfortunately this one was so “claggy” and full of some flowery glutinous substance that I could not even finish it. Having said that I would recommend their fruit loaf.

Very busy but efficient and friendly service. So many options and interested to see Cornish pasties and some vegetarian pies that seemed interesting and popular. However went with the pies - chunky beef and chicken and mushroom - which had good pastry and delicious fillings. Banana bread rated very good. Got a ciabatta loaf which was Ok but not a great example of ciabatta.

I rate bakeries based on the variety of pies they create. Whilst I love meat pies, thought to try the vegetarian option so went for the cauliflower pie. Was awesome. Great flavour an loved the pastry. Highly recommend them.

The only place for artisan breads in the region. Excellent Stone Ground sourdough loaves including spelt. Delicious muffins. Look out for the Sticky Date. I have been back twice for the meat pies. Their daily bake is sold out by mid afternoon. Most of the breakfast/lunch retailers in the region advertise they are using Wild Rye's products. Don't miss Wild Rye.

Visited Wild Rye for the first time today . Their coffees were great but blown away with their steak and mushroom pie . Whole flat mushrooms with delicious gravy and meat. If I was to choose a last meal it would be this pie absolutely delicious. My husband had the Roman Josh pie but found it a bit dry and lacking ,he tasted mine and was so jealous. The Berry Frangipani tarts were delicious, lovely crisp pastry. Wish I lived closer . Very nice staff to and great seating out front.

Great pies and pasties, incl vego options. Sensational cakes by the slice, incl GF options. (I'm not saying which are the best, because I don't want them to sell out.) Also their own roasted coffee, which is a cut above that served by many cafes.

If I lived in Pambula I would get diabetes... in a good way. Ordered an almond croissant and a carrot cake slice. Both were fresh as daisies and a coffee to wash it down. Everything was a treat. Tip of the hat baker people of Pambula. Will return during the next Pambula rodeo.

Good coffee, the best muffins and yummy treats. We enjoyed everything we tried! Have been back every day of our short stay for coffee and to try a new treat. Price is great too. Quick and friendly service, staff kindly reinforce social distancing and max customer capacity. Keep it up guys!

Typical country bakery in the central of the town with some tables and chairs outside along with a grassy area next door where you can have a picnic and the kids run around
