Location is out of town, but plenty of parking so no hassle. Good service and enjoyed surroundings. We had seafood platter for two. This has fried battered fish, chips, fried scallops, 8 fresh oysters, a crab, prawns. Oysters, prawns, scallops, chips were very good. Fish...was average, and crab was below average. Meal included a small salad, which was ok. Maybe go for two dozen fresh oysters for half the price?More

Disappointing. We were here a few years ago and the food was excellent, this time round the food was average and definitely overpriced for what was received. Service was very good, just need to bring back good quality food.

Drink prices and atmosphere is great but wouldn't recommend food. Fish n chips with salad nothing to write home about and the 4 small scallops on a big plate for $27 is outrageously priced and didn't taste like anything special.More

Since Covid, prices on everything including food and eating out has gone up. In most cases it is understandable and acceptable but not to the point where you are clearly being ripped off. I will pay for a good meal and not complain when it...meets the standard that equals the cost. Wheelers does not meet that standard. I lunched there with a friend, we chose the meals from the menu which also included the prices. Aside from charging $44 for a piece of tasteless fish served in a broth of miso and mushrooms and being charged $21 for a very weak Aperol Spritz and calling it "special request" on the bill, (previously I was charged $17 for the same ) the food at lunch was BLAND BLAND BLAND. I was also shocked to be charged GST on the bill, after the fact. I checked the 'net to confirm if this is now the norm and found - The ACCC requires that businesses include any taxes in the priced displayed on products. This includes GST, which you cannot exclude and add to the price later. Businesses must ensure that they do not mislead consumers by misquoting the price. As a local, I want to support the local eateries etc but I resent being over charged for ordinary food, bland food, boring food. If Wheelers wants to charge Sydney/Melb prices, they need to lift their standards and stop gouging the locals.More

We used the cafe rather than the restaurant. Food was fresh and delicious - prawns, oysters, fish and chip combos. We have been comfortable eating both inside and out.

Came to Wheeler’s for a family lunch, had a great time. Staff were very welcoming, meals were terrific. We ordered the seafood platter and were very impressed. Thoroughly recommend.

What a huge disappointment. Someone needs to go back to shucking school, 18 out of 24 oysters with grit & shell shards. The fish was shrivelled away from a hard thick batter. The mountain of salad was dwarfed by the ridiculous mound of chips. Then...the waitress hurled a perfectly good Corona into a beer glass. Go figure.More

Went there to celebrate the end of a great holiday. Shared their amazing seafood platter with my wife, loved the afforgarto desert and the warm friendly staff. I’ll be back

Excellent food and service. The staff are super friendly and clearly enjoy their job. We had oysters followed by a perfectly cooked eye fillet steak and a serve of pork belly. I would advise you book because we are early on a Monday night and...it was busy.More

Merimbula is known for its oysters, so on a windy day we went there for lunch. We had several different styles and they were all lovely. The staff were good and the ambiance nice.

The food is so beautifully presented, it seemed a shame to dig into it. However, it tasted even better than it looked! Everyone was thoroughly pleased with their choices. My only criticism is that the toasted sourdough which accompanied my choice was too dry -...perhaps a small dish of oil or butter would be better?More
