Travelling from Sydney with 9 others for a girls weekend away and first stop was coffee and pastries and cakes. Tried to book a table so as not to overwhelm Patisserie with a large group just arriving with no notice, but unfortunately I was told...that only one table was available inside and we could not book. We just had to take pot luck with any available tables outside. We took our business elsewhere where our large group was accommodated with open arms despite having the same Covid requirements.More
My first stop when in and around the Southern Highlands is the Gumnut Patisserie. I simply cannot pass one of their outlets to buy a great coffee and delicious desert cake. If I like something I don't even try anything else....their vanila slices (called custard...slices where I hail from) are the best I've ever had. If you want to expieriance the best looking and best tasting cakes, this is the place.More
Being local gumnut is always the go to for birthday cakes... which I did recently.
I purchased a “passion fruit “cheesecake for around $ 50...I have to say I was very disappointed....it was frozen in the middle and very bland... Not a passion fruit seed...to be seen ..... All my other purchases have been a great hit....sadly now I’ll think twice about purchasing from them againMore
This patisserie has won a lot of awards and they boast it on their window. I popped in for a quick pie, just a beef pie and it was not hot and it really had no taste at all.
I don't understand how they won...so many awards unless it was for their pastries because i found my pie bland and boring.More
I was heading to Eden brewery across the road & needed a quick bite to eat & something to line the stomach for the beers ahead, so I popped in here. Still lots on offer in the mid afternoon, I grabbed a lamb & rosemary...pie, and a Thai chicken pie. Both were still quite hot (temperature not flavour) and delicious, nice flaky pastry, and really juicy welcoming fillings. Well worth a visit if you're in Mittagong, in fact you should make the effort to visit if you can.More
