Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hey folks, Dragon Lake has moved from Beach St to the Comfort Inn next to the "big roundabout" (OK ... Merimbula's only roundabout). It's a really nice, bright restaurant setting with some dedicated parking slots just inside the entrance from Merimbula Drive. Our group of Dragon Lake regulars chose to sit inside the restaurant, but the outside terrace with tables and umbrellas looked very inviting.
We were there on the second night of operation in the new location and things were already humming along nicely with a good (and happy) crowd in attendance. Great to see the same efficient and friendly service we've been used to over the years and the food - as always OUTSTANDING!! Without doubt the best Battered King Prawns anywhere in the region and the Stir-fried Rice Noodles are to die for. The Satay King Prawns were also very popular with several of our group. We noted with interest the new Blackboard Menu with "Australian meals" too and the steady flow of customers collecting takeaway dishes..
Will we be going again? That's a big YES ... we've already booked for next week and are really looking forward to it.

We've eaten here on many occasions and keep returning each holiday. It used to be located down near the lake but is now the main restaurant at the Comfort Inn hotel on the hill. It may not have a traditional Chinese ambience but it is clean, neat and the staff are friendly. The food is delicious - recommendations include the smoky wok flavoured fried rice and combination chow mein with crispy noodles. For a few extra dollars you can have extra meat. We thoroughly recommend this local Chinese restaurant.

In town this week I dined here on Sunday and Tuesday nights. Quiet, only diner. Plenty of takeaways going out. Sunday night I had sweet corn chicken soup, prawns with ginger and shalots and fried rice. I thought the fried rice was a little salty but the rest very good, good ingredients and good size serves.
Tuesday night, also quiet, had the same soup and ordered sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice, it was good, but lacking pineapple in sweet and sour. Couple of glasses of Chardonnay each night. Service was good, efficient. Prices reasonable. From me 8/10. Highly recommended.

We've always been huge fans of both the standard takeaways and the lunch specials. The food has always been fresh and tasty. Service is lovely and the takeaway is ready to go within ten to fifteen minutes. Unfortunately we have visited three times in recent weeks and the restaurant has been closed despite posts on Facebook saying it's open. I know they're now catering to bus tours but we won't be back. Hope the tours make up for all the local business lost. A real pity in a town where businesses are struggling to survive.

We were so glad we found this Chinese restaurant, in with a motel up on the hill. The lady was lovely, and our takeaway didn’t take all that long and was reasonably priced. You can eat in also, and the restaurant looked clean and comfy. I ordered chicken chow mein and honestly it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was full of chunky fresh vegetables and as we all know, sometimes you get more small cubes of frozen vegetables than fresh. It was really nice. Lots of tender chicken as well as all the fresh vegies. A good decent serve…..I had the rest the next day. I’d definitely go here again.

This place was actually next door to my motel, so I went there for convenience. It was the usual Chinese range of dishes, decent prices, and friendly service. I went for a combination satay dish with a side of rice and just some tea. It was pretty tasty, good satay flavour, it did taste like a bit of sugar had been thrown in but that's okay. I'd recommend it if you want something inexpensive and tasty and easy. I walked in wearing my thongs and shorts and they were fine with it.

My husband and I tried out the Dragon Lake Chinese recently. Considering it’s only one of two Chinese Restaurants in Merimbula, I thought the food would have been a bit better. Whilst I thought the wonton soup was quite good, I was disappointed with the main meal overall, as was my husband. It was quite expensive for Chinese also. However, having said that, out of the two Chinese Restaurants in Merimbula, this one is much better than the Chinese at the RSL Club.

It's so nice to see that Dragon Lake is back in the centre of town. Now at 58 Market street next to Nori Hub and opposite the Reject Shop Car Park, means it's easy to get to for a quick pick up. The flavours of their food beats any other Chinese meal in the area. We travel a long way just to eat Dragon Lake Chinese. Being a takeaway only, they've focused on the most popular Chinese dishes. Everyone's favourite is on the menu, but I'm sure if it's not there they can toss something together. My favourite is the combination satay. Hubby likes the bbq pork in plum sauce and our kids like Mongolian beef or the battered chicken with honey sesame seed sauce. Their dim sims are home made and delicious. Wish I lived in Merimbula so I could eat Dragon Lake Chinese more often. Thanks for lunch William. You're the best!

I have eaten here a few times and ate here a couple of times in October. Service was good but restaurant quiet, I was only diners but a few takeaways. Prices are good and food of high standard I had the wonton soup which was excellent, frieds rice very good and King Prawns in Shallots one night. Another night had a change and had steak, chips and salad which was very good.
Highly recommended.

We went to Merimbula for holiday with the kids. The food was okay, but the service was really bad. Our server did not seemed happy doing her job. She cleaned up our table even if we were not done eating. Worse, she was very rude. We saw her talking behind our back to the cashier. Not sure what she was saying but it was apparent that they were talking about us. Perhaps we looked a bit “foreign” compared to their other white patrons? In short, we did not feel welcomed at all. So even if the food was alright, we would never ever good back to this place again. I would also recommend that the server be trained in customer service and/ or cultural diversity.

I dined in here on Monday and Tuesday evenings. I was the only diner, just a few takeaways. Good reception. Extensive menu, reasonable prices. Monday night I had wonton soup, King Prawns ginger and shallots, fried rice and couple of chardonnays. Tuesday night I had mixed entrees, Combination chow mein. All good ingredients, good size portions and hot. Wine was also good, Grant Burge Chardy @ $6 a glass. Quick efficient service.
Restaurant is now in the Comfort Motel, plenty f parking and reasonably furnished.
Highly recommended.

This place is no longer a restaurant and has moved from the Comfort Inn and reopened as Chinese and bubble tea take away.
It’s a fairly standard menu (nothing exciting) with no chef’s specials. I would describe it as plain Australian Chinese food. The prices have risen but in saying that, the serves are generous.
