Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ordered the chicken burger, all day burger and corn and zucchini fritters without the aioli as my wife has a garlic intolerance.
It was only after we had ordered and paid that we were informed that the fritters themselves had garlic and it wasn’t possible to get them without.
We transferred to a chicken and spinach toasty with sweet chilli.
It arrived without any sauce and we weren’t offered the refund of the $7 price difference. Only average.

We ordered some toasted banana bread for the kids which was presented beautifully. My 11yr old son had the bacon & egg roll but wouldn’t eat it because it came with lots of relish and aioli which kids don’t really like. My husband had the eggs Benny which he really liked and I ordered the breakfast burger which was delicious and very filling. The coffee was good but not amazing. Overall worth a visit and the location was great.

We had breakfast twice at Mormors, Merimbula during our Christmas Break 2021. Both times we had order 2 bacon and egg rolls and 1 chicken toastie (available throughout the day). The place was jam packed, inspite of covid (delta and omicron) in full swing. We ordered takeaway, as not a big fan of crowded places due to the last 2 years of pandemic. The bacon and egg rolls had a good amount of bacon, some fried onions which made it taste yummier and the bread was more turkish bread than the regular milk buns. The toastie was surprisingly very tasty. Somehow they have these sauces which makes them really tasty! Price was, they are good as well, so it the size of the meal. Definitely one of the best cafes in the area, worth a visit!

We were three adults and 1 child for lunch. The child just wanted a ham & cheese toasted sandwich and milkshake. The menu had cheese sandwiches for children, or ham & cheese croissant in the general section. I asked whether ham could be added to the sandwich and was abruptly told NO - not a case of another $$ or so, just NO. I questioned that, and was again told "cook said NO". As I wasn't able to drag the rest of the party off elsewhere, I continued with the order for the rest of us plus the croissant for the child. When paying - $77.00, I said I thought for that amount, they could have put a slice of ham on a sandwich for the child, I didn't mind paying for it, and that I would not be returning.
To emphasise that I tore up my loyalty card (I had been a frequent customer) and left it on the saucer. Never going there again.

Not happy. Went there for lunch with 2 other adults and 1 child. This cafe refused to make a ham & cheese toasty for the child - we could have either a cheese toasty or an adult ham & cheese croissant. It was not a case of any extra cost - just a flat refusal. Won't be going back - I left my loyalty card torn up on the saucer.

We stopped off at this cafe to grab a coffee. We were screamed at by the manger (?) because it was 1.58pm and unbeknownst to us they were closing at 2pm. We were more than happy to go else where but the manager for some reason continued to yell at how they were closing at 2pm. However she did suggest another cafe, surprisingly her tone was very degrading, very rude. We went to the suggested cafe, Nourish across the road, who were wonderful, highly recommend. Such a horrible person and cafe, hard pass from me!

We enjoyed a lovely breakfast here. The staff are super friendly and the food and coffee great! I had the bacon and egg roll on a delicious turkish roll and hubby had a small serve of scrambled eggs with bacon and halloumi. Both dishes yummy and filling. Coffee was mellow, just the way we like it!

Amazing! My partner and I stopped by after being ignored at the Waterfront Cafe and Mormors showed us what good service is! The staff were immediately helpful and friendly. We both ordered the eggs benedict which was amazing on the croissant it comes on, the coffee was delicious. The food came out quickly. The venue is beautiful, modern and funky. We will be back.

Staff are smartly dressed, know their food
Menu is small but varied
The juices there are delicious, fresh and combinations are excellently put together. I had the carrot orange ginger juice and it’s delicious.
I also had their hot chocolate- best in town
I had the pumpkin toastie which was delish. My partner has the breaky burger with added jalepeno and loved it. You can definitely tell they use quality products.
Went to three places in Merimbula on the weekend for brunch and out of waterfront, nosh and Mormors was definitely the best.
If your looking for a smart little cafe with excellent food and great wait staff this is definitely a place to check out

Mormors is a great choice for breakfast when in Merimbula. We had Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Burger. The eggs Benny was $19.99 and the breakfast burger was $18.99. The coffee and food was really good and the staff were friendly. Budget $40-$50 for food and coffee for 2.

Went to Mormors with friend last week for coffee. Both coffees ordered were only lukewarm. Gave waiter my cup to take back and told him I would like the coffee heated. Came back with same cup (untouched) together with tiny jug of hot milk to which I added. It made no difference to the temperature and I ended up with a cup of warm milk and no trace of coffee taste! I also ordered a ham & cheese croissant. Croissant was burnt on the outside and the fillings were cold. The ham consisted of a paper thin slice. Will never go there again.

Popped in for lunch yesterday. Helpful lady organising the tables. I had the chickpea curry which was delicious. Partner had the beef hamburger with egg. $25 and not served with chips very pricey. He said it was tasteless apart from the beetroot relish. Iced coffee came in a glass mug 3/4 full. We think they forgot to put the whipped cream on top.

Finally a cafe that provides a decent pot of tea. The cup sizes were small/average size but at least 4-5 cups of tea per pot! Limited menu. It was more of just a breakfast menu but all day. Meals were nice and staff were friendly.

Heaps of nice outdoor seating amongst plants. Really lovely helpful staff. Allowed an item swap to make the dish vegetarian which is really appreciated. Also cute handmade items for sale. Delicious meal and fantastic blueberry, banana, cinnamon and date smoothie.

Simple takeaway order of chicken toastie (GF) and a latte.
Customer capacity less than half plus looking well staffed.
Waited on outside stool for near 25 minutes before name called out.
No explanation. Food ok but won’t return.
