Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great Food. Great service. Went with my family for Mother's day. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The Goat Curry was my favourite dish!

We ordered rice, garlic naan, mango chicken and lamb korma, along with a mango lassi and a cider. The food was nice, but certainly not amazing. The mango chicken was very bland and tasted like minimal spices had been added to the mango puree. The...korma was nice, and had a nice blend of spices. The meats were nice and tender. The service was good and the staff friendly. The restaurant ad a nice ambiance.More

The food was very good and we had a very enjoyable experience. It was great that the kids meals came out quickly and we were able to add spice to dishes. My daughters enjoyed their butter chicken very much. The waiters and waitresses were very...kind. The only thing keeping me from rating it five stars was the fact that we had to wait a little bit for the food but I guess it’s ok because it was busy. Definitely on our list to go back to and definitely recommend for any special occasions.More

popular place but plenty of room (3/23), we went earlyish. warm welcome, seats of choice, mercifully short menu but more than enough choice. all cooked to order and to taste. spiced up butter chicken to die for. I look back at this place and wish...it was on my doorstep.More

Had the goat with a bit hotter spices, it was magnificent, basmati rice was fluffy and light. Garlic naan was excellent. Other dishes were butter chicken, chicken korma, lamb roganjosh. Not one complaint all round. Would highly recommend. Thx jj.

Vegan food in Kiama is no easy thing to come by. It was a relief having found JJ's Indian Restaurant. There is a dedicated vegan section in the menu — make sure you ask for it, the first time we dined there we may have...received a different menu. The food was very tasty and filling, and not overly oily, as has been my experience in Indian restaurants over the years. We shared 3 mains between the both of us after a 17km walk 😅 We ordered the chickpea dish (Amritsari chole) which was our favourite, as well as an eggplant/aubergine dish which was great, but the aubergine skin can be a bit tough to chew. Note: prepare to wait for a while even if you booked a table. Both times we dined here we found the establishment to be quite understaffed.More

Have enjoyed JJs (Kiama) Indian food for many years, never been disappointed. Our only wish: we could eat there more often! A well deserved mention for Esme, a very pleasant and competent waitress. RJA43

Just like home, thick sauce, I had tikka massala, been here 6 years, lived in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and that’s the best I’ve had here.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday of the Easter long weekend. First the positives. The service was great. The ambience was good. The food on the other hand was the most average or even tasteless Indian I’ve ever had. After reading all the rave reviews...decided to visit as we were visiting from Canberra. First of all there was no presentation. The curries looked like they had been thrown into the bowl, no garnish and no cleaning the sides. The rice too was just thrown into the bowl dropping out of the sides. The butter chicken seemed like it had been taken from a packet. The Goat Masala had no flavour. There was hair in the prawn curry which I told the waiter about. It was so very disappointing. Then on top of that we were charged a 15% service charge for the long weekend. Either the regular chef was on a day off or things have changed. Not worth the money I paid and will never return. Try Canberra Indian food. Now that’s good stuff.More

We booked for 2 just in case, having read reviews, and scored the last table for 6.30pm sitting. We walked past other restaurants on the way that were not nearly as popular. Biryani, Butter Chicken, garlic Naan, glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a mango lassi...was ample for us. Very tasty. Wonderful aromas as we watched food going to other tables. The garlic naan was ‘perfect’. Waiter and waitress were attentive. Well priced - A very nice meal. A previous review suggested you could only order via an App. Our waitress took our order. No App required. Extensive menu. The waitress didn’t hold back when I ordered the mango lassi, saying “oh yum”. She was 100% correct. Location is central to Kiama’s CBD. 5 minute walk from our accommodation (Sebel). Parking at rear or street parking. Dining area at rear, so nice and quiet, garden view. RecommendMore
