Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bacon & egg roll was AMAZING! So refreshing to have something a little different than just your usual bacon egg and bbq sauce. The staff we very polite and the coffee roll deal was very reasonable co spidering the quality of the product.
My hubby and I both highly recommend Hampden Deli! And the coffee is awesome.

While exploring the village dropped in for coffee and cake which we enjoyed in the deck. Coffees were lattes which were served at the correct temperature, very well flavoured and perfectly textured milk. A really pleasant muffin made for a great break

My partner and I did a day trip to Kangaroo Valley and took our picnic basket. We stopped in here and ordered the grazing box. It was the most delicious thing! The staff were super friendly and helpful in organising our box. Unfortunately they had run out of the usual white wine, but gave us a really yummy bottle of local bubbles instead! The baked loaf was incredibly delicious and the cheeses and meats that came with it were sublime, as were the sardines, olives and nuts. There was not one thing in the box I didn’t enjoy. Highly recommended! Will definitely be going there again and ordering the grazing box!

I stopped here for breakfast early Feb
I had eggs benedict . . .
The eggs were not properly poached (uncooked whites). . .
The hollandaise was barely warm (and ran into and mixed with the uncooked whites. . .)
The muffins were NOT toasted . . (Yuk)
The result was cold soggy muffins and an unappetising mess for the OUTRAGEOUS price of $18.
Absolutely disgusting and I will never return . . .
I cant imagine they actually run a cooking school as well.

I stopped here for breakfast and would not recommend it. The wait for food was inexcusable considering the cafe was quite empty and we ordered bacon and egg rolls which is quick food to make. None of the food was fresh (stale rolls) and the girl serving us got the orders wrong. The biggest issue for me is the muesli cup that I ordered as it was fizzy and I couldn’t eat it. When I told the girl serving she advised me it was a day old and had been left in the food display by mistake so this doesn’t leave me to think that anything is freshly made just reheated. Very disappointing considering the owner has worked at all the top restaurants globally and you expect a lot more knowing this. The coffee is good, but just avoid eating here, there are other places to choose from.

You won’t be disappointed with a stop at The Hampden Deli in the Kangaroo Valley. My husband and I drove down from Sydney this morning, it was not our first visit, in fact my husband started talking about having a Croque Monseur there before we had even got onto the M5 (thank goodnesses they hadn’t sold out before we got there). Anyway I felt compelled to tell other travellers this little spot is wonderful. The coffee is consistently excellent. It’s the place the locals go to. Inside and outside seating. Take a look at their cook book. The Kangaroo Valley is fortunately to have The Hampden Deli.

Allpress coffee- made well. Delicious canelle cakes, croc monsieur, sourdough bread. The service by the young blonde woman was very friendly, personal and efficient. They have an array of specialty foods including local eggs. Expect a queue to order... it’s worth any wait

Unique selection of house-made products for platters or picnic hampers. The tasting selections are always excellent, and very generous. If you are into locally produced gourmet foods, this place is for you. Awesome coffee as well!

We enjoyed morning coffee here twice during a recent weekend in Kangaroo Valley. Good coffee and great selection of tempting pastries, pies, croissants etc. Service was friendly and efficient. And the deli area of the shop had a lot of great-looking produce. However, what we enjoyed the most was the location, and particularly the airy balcony. It proved to be a wonderful place to chat over coffee and cake on a beautiful, sunny autumn morning.

An absolute gem of a little cafe. We had the salami and the chicken toasted and both were excellent. Try the prune and banana custard tart for dessert - to die for! And the code is the best in the Valley.

A nice venue on the Main Street in Kangaroo Valley: unfortunately, at the time of our visit no gluten free options were available to go with the coffee we stopped for: coffee was OK
