Yes it’s old and rundown but quaint. Food was delicious but hold the mayonnaise swirls -it was tasty enough. Weird set up with cash for drinks but card for food-bar tender didn’t tell us there was an ATM as we struggled to find enough cash....Highlight was winning the meat tray. Downside was we walked to the ferry and the bus driver forgot the meat tray! BUT a great upside, one of the staff had it delivered by the bus the next day and we collected it from the Yamba dock👍 Will definitely return and will Be Prepared as the Boy Scours say!More

Dinner for two, AU$55, food only. Chips and salad were standards, a veggie sides option wasn't offered when we ordered. He had a T Bone steak, large, a little over cooked. I had grilled snapper, smallish, chips for size (looks bigger in my photo 😅),...but quite nice. The salad component was ordinary. My fish dish was $26. A bit expensive for an average meal. The pub itself is spacious and ramshackled... the floors bounce in places! The staff were friendly and very helpful. There were quite a few customers, it was a Sunday night and Mother's day. To summarise... nice over priced food, awesome staff!, INTERESTING setting.More

We have been to sedgers reef for dinner and lunch many times, an extensive menu, well priced and food is always very good. Big serves enough to satisfy the hungriest man!!!

Had to see the place after reading a couple of very funny reviews. (Top advertising). Yes, the place is old, right on the river/ocean. The service and food were as good as any pub food from any good pub. Yes you had to check in...(and prove it), but that’s what happens now. Staff were quick and efficient. It is a shame that the outside of the building is getting on, I don’t say they should modernise it, as it has character. However, If they don’t do something with it soon, it will end up being condemned and sold to a developer with only people who have money able to afford a great location.More

Great food, Great View As locals we know and expect school holidays and long weekends to be really busy so avoid dining out during those times. We were picked up in the courtesy bus only 10 mins after calling. We ordered as soon as the...restaurant opened and our meals were all served together after only 15 mins. We really enjoyed our food, Mexican Parmigiana, Slow cooked Ribs served with tasty chips and salad as well as the fresh Garlic Prawn Pasta. Good size meals at a reasonable price. The beers were cold and we really enjoyed our meals watching the amazing sunset. We found the staff quite friendly, I did found the previous reviews quite offensive. For those that don’t know, the hotel is soon to be knocked down and a flashy new one built.More

Where do I start...actually I’ll start here - I was tripped over upon entrance by a sedgers affiliate (unconfirmed). members of my party are tall and all hit their heads entering this asbestos palace so at this point we were all bleeding in some way...or another and this made us all quite hungry. The oysters appeared to be a leading force according to the cook so we took his word for it and the ‘pacific oysters from Tasmania’ were served 2.5hrs later looking like they were imported from Pakistan 9 months ago...they tasted even worse. Heaps more bad stuff happened here - a few swear words were casted at my party and we all left tight lipped and in tears. didn’t even here one feature go off on the pokie room. 5 starsMore

I know for a fact the staff will gladly cater for anyoneMore

Unimpressed to say the least , I ordered a good old steak sandwich cause I have a garlic allergy one would think it’s an easy go to but no the steak was marinated in garlic and chilli which was not mentioned on the menu ,...ended up with burger very average with a frozen meat pattie , , chef was helpful and friendly pity I couldn’t say the same about the staff , very disappointedMore

There is a sign saying no animals allowed. On one occasion when we were there someone did have their dog with them but it was not very busy at that time.
