Treat yourself people, just treat yourself to this little place of paradise. The owner and staff are worth their weight in gold and chef chooses the finest selection of meats you will ever place on your taste buds. If you can, book a table and book early. It may take days to get in this time in the year (Jan). Later in the evening is when we have had the pleasure twice and never been disappointed. It is also BYO, so darn fine in keeping the house payments and having a fab feed. This is quality folks. Rare quality. A gem, --Love the owner, he has a memory like an elephant. The service is next level.

For what it is, a cheery steakhouse, you can't fault this place. We have never had a bad meal here and the staff, mainly younger people, are unfailingly polite and helpful. Last night was no exception. We started with oysters Kilpatrick, delicious plump local oysters. My wife had garlic prawns for a main and I had the signature stone grilled 300gram fillet steak. We couldn't have been happier sharing our two meals. Questions about where the steaks were sourced and how the stones were cleaned were referred back to the kitchen but our servers were soon back with the answers to our questions (which was Sydney and high pressure hoses for those interested). Patrons are encouraged to bring their own wine and the corkage is a modest $3 per table. A pleasant surprise compared to exorbitant wine prices and corkage in capital city restaurants. A really enjoyable meal for around $125. The restaurant was fully booked, I can see why.

Thought we made a booking - turns out I didn't, yet they still squeezed us in on a busy Saturday night. Read about this while we were researching places to eat during out 3 night Sydney escape away. Did not disappoint. Very friendly and buzzy atmosphere, and very generous portions. We ordered the scallops which were half a dozen big plump juicy morsels, the garlic king prawns in butter that I wanted to snorkel in and the calamari rings that were heaven, followed by one serving of the eye fillet served on their signature hot rock plate that was melt in the mouth, a small side salad and chips that were not needed due to portion size. It's places like this that keep us travelling - a wonderful surprise, amazingly good value, and BYO also. All in all heavenly food, and can't wait to get back to Huskisson not for their amazing beaches as much, but this place. Thank you.

Great food - this was one of the best steaks I've ever had and it was perfectly cooked by the chef! The food was very reasonably priced and the very busy staff were amazing. Except the 'main man' - he was rude when I rang to book one month ahead and was rude when we arrived at the allocated time. Next time I'll book an outside table as where we sat up in the back corner was very noisy and smokey. Overall though I'll be back again as the positives far outweigh the negatives!

The best restaurant for food out of many fine restaurants in Huskisson. We went Monday night and tonight, Friday night. All good but the 3-course set menu is the best value. They still get you over the 100 bucks for corkage, and vegetables over salad even if they don't touch the bottle of wine. There are 3 or 4 families working there including kids from 11 years old up. This made me uncomfortable and to the point I needed to say education was a bigger priority than assisting their mothers in the restaurant. They assured me they go to school. It's a great meal and worthy of a visit at a quieter moment.

Fantastic restaurant. It was a great experience cooking the steak on a stone grill. The steak was the biggest and best steak we have had - it was so tender and melted in the mouth. We had the set menu for $50 for 3 courses. It was excellent value for money. We had grilled prawns, the steak with salad or pasta salad and chips - we did not need the chips - and cheesecake for dessert. The service was excellent also. Highly recommend.

Were staying with friends in the area who raved about this place and were keen to take us there on the understanding that we didn't have stone grill in N.Z. (which we do and have tried several times. Had the eye fillet a 300 gram serving was large portion no complaints there, my wife being a small eater had the Bruschetta as a main. They had a reasonably comprehensive A La Carte Menu as well as stone grill would look forward to going back and trying some of that.

My partner and I came here after receiving recommendations from a lot of people, including my dad who bless him is not easily impressed! As soon as we got there we were instantly welcomed, as a wheelchair user there are not many places along this street that are wheelchair accessible so initially I went in on crutches. The staff were so accomodating in making sure I was comfortable, including moving us to a bigger table and bringing me a chair and blanket to elevate my injured leg on (I have an external fixture cage) The food was SENSATIONAL, I started with the king prawns in garlic, the only down side to this dish was there was no accompanying bread to soak up the excess sauce, if I wasn’t in public I would have drunk it off the plate lol For a main I chose the stonegrill Angus rump, this is one of the dishes you can ‘cook yourself’, initially against the idea (why go to a restaurant to cook your own meal when you can do that at home?!) but I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, the meat was delicious - compliments to the chef, me haha - I loved that it came out on the stone so each piece could not only be cooked to your liking but it’s something different. It came with a side salad that I used the house made honey mustard dressing and loved every refreshing bite. For dessert I opted for the sticky date pudding with butterscotch and ice cream, quite possibly the best SDP I’ve ever had! I would 150% recommended this place to anyone in the area, it could be deemed a little pricey a la carte however we got the three course for $40 option and upgraded $7.50 for the a la carte dessert which I think is a pretty great deal for what we got. Will be back next time in in town for sure! Ps. Bug thumbs up for having a fully accessible disabled toilet too

A wonderful steak. If you’re a meat person and “don’t like ordering steak when out”, you should come to SG and order a steak. Their cuts are delicious. We have been a handful of times and love it. BYO always helps (wine and beer) and the sticky date pudding is sensational. Sometimes you have to be in and out in an hour or so to allow for a second sitting, sometimes you can take your time. Book in advance - it gets booked out. Our order: garlic cream prawns entree (to share), 2x eye fillet (they’re bigger than 300g) with pasta salad, 1x side of chips, 2x desserts (it’s way too much food and we are good eaters!).

We had the price fix menu with the garlic prawns, steak, and panna cotta. AMAZING. The prawns came out quickly and were excellent quality- texture and flavor. But the steak is better than what I’ve had at top tier steakhouses like Ruth’s Chris in Seattle or San Francisco for 3 x the price. It was flavorful, tender, and done perfectly to my taste thanks to the hot stone at the table. Top notch! The owner was the one to seat us and explain how the stone works and his pride in the product and experience was evident as it should be with this quality. The photo isn’t steak. It’s the beach here which is amazing as well.

We had a lovely dinner at Stonegrill, we had a nice warm welcome from the owner, very professional wait service very efficient. Great experience & enjoyed recommendations from staff, they took their time to explain how it all works. We had the $40 deal only thing we didnt like was the pasta salad and mushroom sauce was a gravy like consistency. The MONSTER TBONE was amazing. Overall fantastic pricing, Would recommend to give this place a go!

This place is excellent! The staff are friendly and polite. The food is top notch and very reasonably priced. BYO Drinks (drive thru is a 30 second walk away). What's not to like? So if you are keen on a big meal and the opportunity to cook your slab of meat the way you want while sipping on your own choice of alcohol, make sure you try this place out! - Dave V

This restaurant is great. The owners greet every customer and makes you feel welcome. The meals were massive and the fact you cook your own steak appealed to me. This is a BYO restaurant which also a good thing to keep the cost of your night out. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Clearly I’m missing the appeal of Stonegrill. My partner and I ordered steak, that being what the restaurant is famous for, and I suppose we got exactly what we asked: raw meat, sizzling on a square-shaped hot stone. Don’t get me wrong - I enjoy a decent steak. However, I paid fifty bucks for wagyu and, for that price, I can get a much more enjoyable meal in countless restaurants, including ones with spectacularly delicious salads. AND I don’t have to cook it myself. Stonegrill was... okay. Not amazing. Not terrible. Just somewhere in the region of medium. Turns out cooking the food myself is a novelty that simply doesn’t play well with me. If I make the effort to go to a restaurant, my expectation is I’m paying for someone more skilful than me to cook my food. And I’m big into salad as well. And the Stonegrill salad was kinda lacklustre. Just because there’s a big, fat steak front and centre, doesn’t mean the sidekick should be ignored. So: three stars. Mainly because, for fifty dollars, I expect much more than an above-average steak that I had to cook myself, and an average salad that seemed to be put together as an afterthought.

Unique dining experience and best meal we had in Australia during our stay. The food was excellent we had the filet mignon the quality of the steak was superb. Extremely large portion. The staff was excellent, and Tony was a wonderful host. Tony recommended the sticky date pudding for dessert which was absolutely amazing and something we normally would not have ordered but were so thankful we did. Ride safe Tony and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful restaurant with us.
