Often tourist places are over priced with poor food because they think people won't come back. This place is nothing flash but it is cooked fresh and doesn't taste microwaved.very pleasant for a medium priced meal with friends.

This restaurant serves great Indian food. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable. We ordered 3 dishes to share with rice and naan bread and the cost of was just $75 including corkage for byo.

We visited Huskisson for one night stay and had dinner with family at this restaurant. It is the only Indian restaurant in town so it's little expensive but they made Vegetarian No Onion & No Garlic food for us, which many times challenging to get. Food was good, but it could be better as we ordered Shahi Paneer which was very sour in taste due to only tomato gravy and no Cream. Palak Paneer also could be better by making it creamy, but still it was good. Dal Fry and Safforn rice was delicious and very Tasty.

Visited Taj on the basis of the very positive reviews. Our impressions were somewhat more reserved. I note that many of the previous reviews were from first-time reviewers... interesting.
The staff were friendly and service efficient. Servings were generous with dishes containing more actual meat than you might find at some other Indian restaurants.
However, I didn’t find the dishes (taste-wise) to be extraordinary, as suggested by some reviewers. Just basic Indian. The place was not at all busy on a night when the restaurant across the road was packed. Interesting...

As we set out walking west towards Nowra from the beach end of Owen Street (the main street) every restaurant serving dinner seemed overflowing until we got close to the other end, where we noticed the Taj wasn't full. As we both like Indian food this became the obvious choice, and we weren't disappointed. We shared an order of garlic Naan then my partner had Mali Kofta and I had Beef Vidaloo. The waiter asked how hot I wanted the Vindaloo sauce and I told him as I had worked in India I liked it hot but not absurdly hot (as when the cook takes it as a challenge). Turns out the Vindaloo was really good. We wanted to eat dinner here a second time but there was a long line waiting to get seats so you might want to book.

We found this little gem in Huskisson and thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved the intimate decor, ambiance and atmosphere. The service was great from the front of house staff and so swift and smooth. The owner even came out to our table to chat and see that we enjoyed our meals - this was most unexpected. We had the Bombay Beef and Chicken Mango - both were superb (but my favourite was the beef!). I would highly recognise this lovely and lively restaurant next time you visit Huskisson.

The food was just incredible- all meals were so delicious and the whole family loved it. The service from the staff was really attentive, quick, super friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend going here - the food was amazing, quick service and absolutely lovely people and atmosphere!!!!!!!

We regularly go to Indian Restaurants in Sydney , Huskisson has an absolute jewel with Taj. Food made to order ( Mild, Medium , Hot) , Ingredients are fresh the best Indian we have ever had. My favorite is the prawn dish (mild) my husbands is the lamb dish ( hot), potato dish (medium) .Service was fantastic. Take away containers supplied as we ordered to much. Totally delicious. Discovered this gem of a restaurant on a trip to Jervis Bay. Food was flavourful and had good portions, didn't have the usual old reheated taste of many Indian places. Great customer service, definitely coming back next time I'm here.

Great food. Very Good value. Wine list limited but very cheap. Stephen is a top host. I usually avoid the butter chicken as it is often too sweet. The Taj butter chicken is awesome. Baby goat was bony but the flavour is exceptional. Happy to recommend this restaurant.

I had the great experience of spending the weekend in Jarvis bay. On my journey I came across Taj restaurant. The food was amazing. So fresh. The chef clearly only uses quality ingredients. The experience was also made memorable by Steven. His recommendations and knowledge certainly made the evening a warm experience. Can’t wait to return

The staff here are very friendly and efficient here.
The mix entrees we had was delicious, chicken tikka, onion baji and samosa. All very fresh and tasty.
Unlike the entrees, although fine, were missing the authentic Indian flavour. The chicken tikka had an over powering tomato sauce and the butter chicken had very little Indian flavours.
Naan bread was delicious.

We usually go to this restaurant atleast twice a month. The food is very delicious and my favorite dsh is palak paneer which Master Chef Arron cooks it perfectly. Garlic naan is also made fresh. The food tastes like real indian authentic. The staff are very friendly especially Emilly. She always provides excellent service with a smile. (Kanika & Vinesh)

Peek periods you will need to prebook as unfortunately we missed out on table so we went for take away. The food was still very hot when we got back, packed very well. Service was awsome friendly staff. Cant forget to mention how beautiful the food was, great amount of meat in dishes not just the sauce! Highly recommend

Awwwhhhh sooooo yum! Surely the best Indian food I’ve had since departing India on my last trip! We enjoyed a Seafood Thali … excellent array of tasting dishes; each beautifully prepared & presented. Flavoursome, authentic & oh so good. Will surely be making a return visit 🇮🇳🍛🤗
