Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disappointed it was listed as a Cafe …but is now only a retail shop. Is opening later than listed. In the old Post Office building.

We popped in here to grab some lunch but were told that they have ceased to be a cafe. They are still operating as a shop and it is well worth having a look. We ended up having a very nice lunch at Terracotta which...is just nearby.More

A delightful surprise, beating back the normal offerings, as we traveled from Griffith to Sydney. This mixed business provided fresh lunch, tea in teapots and a mix of trendy must haves that would have fitted right in to Daylesford or similar on the tourist treks.

Driving from Yass to West Wyalong and stopped for a coffee. The café was once the old Post Office. Plenty of room while retaining the layout of its former days. Unique in itself. Coffee and cake was good, air conditioning was appreciated on a hot...day. The township itself is a bit sad with many closed shops, but The Muddy Duck is very much alive and well. Internal and clean toilets. Huge arrange of gifts and garden ornaments. Many very novel.More

I could not believe I was able to find this gem in this tiny town. The atmosphere is calm and the food worth a Michelin star. Must go!

Oh my... what a great little treasure Harden has! The service is outstanding with the host Karen being such a kind caring soul. The establishment was spectacular, the furnishings were gorgeous and the art amazing. However... the milkshakes are to die for! The kids think...it’s Christmas! Top class!More

Eight of lunched in this quirky, perky spot, which seems to function as half cafe and half artisans' gallery. The business is housed in a substantial and beautifully restored older building (turns out it is was once the Murrumburrah PO). While some of our group...did end up buying handicrafts - including some beautiful linen tea-towels - it was food and beverages that we were really after and the Duck didn't disappoint in that department, either. The coffee was good as were the toasties and Steak Diane pie, but the prize pick definitely went to their 'Duck Platter', which was not even listed on the blackboard menu; luckily my sister asked if they had anything with 'a bit less bread' and the platter was mentioned. They were $19 each and consisted largely of local produce: including plump olives and olive oil, and their own smoked duck and duck chorizo. They were excellent, with four of use shared two platters. See pic too.More

I have been converted to drinking coffee after having coffee at the Muddy Duck. The service is superb and always with a friendly smile. You can have your coffee or hot chocolate with various types of milk, eg .Full Cream, Lactose Free, Skim, Almond Milk,...Coconut Milk, Soy etc. Fabulous for those of us who are Lactose intolerant. Fresh, delicious cakes and Focaccia, Pies etc are available. I look forward to relaxing with my coffee in the boutique style cafe, and checking out the eclectic style of merchandise for sale, whenever I visit Murrumburrah. The town is lucky to have such a fabulous cafe.More

A 2 hr road trip with the family to visit the local hand made markets...everyone in town was just lovely. Enjoyed buying candles and honey etc. Hadn't been here for 25 years! Then of all the eating joints between Murrumburrah and Canberra we chose your...cafe to have a snack. We ordered 3 hot drinks, a ready to heat spinach/cheese roll, a ready to heat blueberry muffin and a serving of gf toast and jam. For over 1/2 hr we waited patiently and watched EVERYONE In the restaurant get their food and their hot drinks in porcelain or glass cups including my son and husband. Then my coffee came out and it was the wrong order...no apologies forthcoming! Waited another 5 mins before my coffee came out in a paper takeaway cup!!! I then approached the counter where i asked for a proper cup. I noticed you had plenty on the shelf. You made me cry....i took it personally Ms owner. Perhaps I was a bit melancholy today. You let your town down. Thank goodness for Karma.More

Break your journey and and refresh with a stop at one of the cafes in Harden and Murrumburrah, which are positioned to serve the traveller. The Muddy Duck in the old post office has excellent coffee, light meals such as foccacia or quality pies from...caterer Tom Duffy in nearby Binalong, and a range of cakes for those who need a sugar hit. Service is fast, friendly and relaxed, with comfortable tables and chairs. Good value for money.More

I'm from Melbourne and yes I am a coffee snob. The Muddy Duck serves an excellent coffee and the jam and cream scones were to die for. Very friendly people made it a very pleasurable experience. They also sell art and eclectic clothing. Look out...for the fabulous old advertising signs on the wall of the courtyard.More
