Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Travelling thru on the way to Tamworth. Called into this pub for dinner. Great food, quick and friendly.

Had a very tasty and enjoyable meal here tonight. Roast of the day (choice of chicken, beef or pork) at $14 - great value. My wife had lamb cutlets which was very good as well. Friendly staff.

Good rooms with shared bathrooms. No heaters or electric blankets but ample blankets. Good food and friendly service. Lovely quiet little town with friendly locals. Would stay again.

We stayed one night @$70 for a double. It is very old, shared bathrooms etc which is not unexpected but it wasn’t that great. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned so smelled of urine, there is no heating upstairs so the lounge area was really cold. We were prepared to have a cold night in our room as there is no electric blanket or heater. Luckily, i was with my husband so we could snuggle all night and there were plenty of blankets so were were warm. And the shared bathrooms...there are 2 separate loos which was fine, one at each end of the second floor. But there are 3 bathrooms each with 2 shower cubicles. However, they are all shared and there is no designated female bathroom. And you can’t lock any of those bathroom doors. Again, it was good that I was with my husband so he was able to hang around when I had my shower. Thankfully it was just us and another bloke but it would have been very uncomfortable if there were more people staying. So, cheap and cheerful, good place for blokes to stay...not so good for us girls.

Funny little glasses, typical old country pub. Nice simple food and good quality. Cool and shady outside dining area..

We had been camping nearby in the wonderful Coolah Tops and called into the charming town of Coolah on route to our next destination. Garden cafe has good coffee but was closed on Monday. Fortunately we found good coffee and friendly service at the Coolah Valley Hotel - a rambling old place in a rather nice Art Deco style. So we stayed for lunch and enjoyed good honest hamburgers (real meat, not prefabricated patties) and excellent chips. Such a pleasant and enjoyable experience in a country pub. Our new favourite country town!

We had the "surf n turf" and a chicken schnitzel both with chips and veg, absolutely enjoyed this perfectly cooked food, unfortunately too full to try the dessert. Just a short walk from the caravan park. This is a very old country hotel, and the decor is very basic, but on a cold winters night the fire was warm, the wine very reasonably priced and the food was great.
