Bali Bagus Cafe is a Bali-style casual eatery with sea views just metres from Byron Bay's main beach. It serves up modern Australian breakfast and lunch with a Bali influence, along with organic coffee, slow-pressed juices, gluten free cakes and dairy free smoothies. We also offer a variety of vegan and gluten free dishes. There are also burgers, cold beers and daily specials a-la-carte. Great Breakfast in Byron!

This place has a nice vibe, friendly staff and gets quite busy. I had eggs on sourdough with bacon, great presentation, eggs perfectly cooked and my wife had avo on toast. Great coffees and a nice place to sit across from the park and people watch. Well priced for Byron and we will be back!

Fantastic food and friendly service

Lovely ambience to this place and close to the beach. Owner and staff extremely friendly. Service was good at all times. I had the chicken burger (with spicy peanut sauce) and chips. Absolutely delicious and genuinely best burger I have had in a long time. My wife had the Naso Goreng with prawns (a lovely flavoursome rice dish with prawns and salad). My wife loved it and having tried a bit I confirm it was delicious. I highly recommend this cafe restaurant.

We come here quite often as it’s a handy location across from the beach. Coffee is always nice. Service is friendly. Pricing reasonable. This time we ordered the chicken skewers as sides to our burger & salad & they were nice & juicy. However, they do vary quite a lot in size. Sometimes they are big, sometimes they are small. Sometimes you get one big & one small. Just not sure why they vary so much in size. Anyways we’ll be back.

Ordered our food. Several tables ordered after us. After 30mins (and watching the tables who ordered after us receive their food) I asked a wait staff about our order. I watched her check with the kitchen staff who shrugged. So, our order had been either missed or misplaced. There was no explanation or apology about it either. Also, every other table received water but ours. And our coffee order- which we made when there were only two other tables who ordered- took 20mins. When the food did arrive (and I'm not kidding) it was stone cold. The mushrooms we're slimy and cold and the bacon tasted like it had been sitting under kitchen lights for ages. Overall it was a crap experience. Lift your game Bagus!

Terrible customer service

A man served me and my family (I assume the owner), he was rude, aggressive and made my kids feel uncomfortable. We waited a long time to receive our order, once it arrived it was completely wrong. I approached the owner and asked if I could get this fixed and he yelled at me saying it was my fault and if I wanted my order I'd have to pay for it again. I tried to reason with him and he just yelled saying if I want the correct food I have to pay again. My kids and wife wanted to leave as this man made them feel very uncomfortable. Please stay away as this place has no consideration for their customers.

Hey There, What you have described sounds terrible, and not like us at all! Would you mind giving some more information about your visit to the cafe, such as date and what you ordered? Is it possible you have mistaken our cafe for another with the same name? At Bagus we pride ourselves with a friendly and inviting atmosphere so we are very saddened to hear this feedback, especially after speaking with our small team who can't recall this taking place. We hope to resolve this in the best way possible, and would love to invite you back in for something special soon!

Nice But Not Cheap

We came here for breakfast, the sign out front says “Warung Bagus”, however, this little place is nice but not cheap like a warung should be. We ordered the nasi goreng, corn fritters & two coffees which cost over $50!!! The nasi goreng had way too much onion in it to be a really good meal. Corn fritters were good although a small serving. The coffee was good. Service was fast & friendly, & the location is nice & handy to the beach.

Service was ok, I had to go

Service was ok, I had to go and find a menu myself while staff walked passed us cleaning a few tables, not acknowledging us at all. I ordered a beef rending, it was tasty but had crappy cheap silverside as the beef. We are locals and we found this disappointing knowing that beef is not too expensive here. We have spent years in Bali, this place is a far stretch from authentic. Think we will give this place a kiss for a while.

TIDAK BAGUS, WARNING DON’T GO HERE.

Mie Goreng was essentially a sweet chilli smothered hokkien noodle microwaved light and easy meal. the “garlic prawns” were cheap & frozen. food was bland & overpriced for what it was. mucked up the order. very unauthentic, if your looking for indonesia food (or good food) don’t go here.

Above average food, bit pricey, good for breakfast

My son and I were here for breakfast on 23-Dec-2020. We wanted to have the big brekky, as not many places serve the big brekkie in Byron. We ordered the standard big b, with a picolo and smoothie. Took some time as they were busy. The presentation was good. Loved the braised mushrooms and garlic potato fritter, I think the fritter was our first with the big brekkie as most cafes just give a hashbrown. this was the first time I had the braised mushroom which was just awesome! bacon was bacon, you can't make it bad and they didn't. But I was not happy with their hollandaise sauce or the toast (too tough), though the eggs were nice. So, I would rate them above average, slightly below par of being very good. (3.5/5 stars). Would definitely visit them again just for the potato fritter and braised mushrooms.

Warung Bagus is a very lovely place. All the staff are very friendly and warm. Warung Bagus offers the best coffees and brownies!! Besides that, you should definitely go check out their amazing breakfast and lunch!!

Top notch spot for breakfast or lunch in Byron Bay. We came here on a friends recommendation and so happy that we did. Fantastic food, Indonesian inspired with a twist of Australia laid-back. Recommend it to anybody.

Lovely spot

Lovely spot to sit and have a drink/bite in the morning. Right on the beach and happy to accomodate our little guy in a high chair. Staff were friendly and milkshakes and banana loaf were spot on.

Fabbo fresh tasty breakfast

Been popping down to Byron regularly for years, morning walks from Wategos for coffee has landed us at this new haunt. What a fabulous find. Coffee, excellent and the cups are HUGE Had avo on toast with a poachie , and really, really good. Fresh, tasty, yummo. Great vibe Our new regular xx

Great Food & Service

Had a beautiful lunch here being the Nasi Goreng and many thanks to the staff who prepared the meal for us just as the kitchen was closing, we appreciated the extra service by the staff as we missed eating here previously and did not want to miss out again. The meal was just what we expected with the cooked egg on top of the rice and with the tasty extras on the plate, thanks for a lovely meal.
