Ordered a bacon and egg roll on a baguette. Spent about 10 minutes draining the yolk and hollandaise sauce, it was the sloppiest bacon and egg roll I’ve ever tried. I ate half of it, the other half fell onto the plate. It was disappointing to watch a $16 meal fall apart like that. Atmosphere was nice but the seating was cramped and tight.

My partner and I went here for breakfast the other day, service was slower than usual. The waiters were a bright, happy face though which made up for it!
We ordered a juice each alone with our breakfast. We both received our food, my partner got the pancakes and I had the Coque Madame - food was nice! However I could t taste a hint of blue cheese in the bachemal sauce, but it was still yummy none the less!
However the biggest let down, we didn’t receive our juices until AFTER we had finished eat our meal! The waitress apologised for the wait, however neither of us had an appetite for a drink after we’d already eaten!
We then watched around the restaurant and noticed that all the tables around us had the same problem - not reviving drinks until after they had been at least half way through their meal!
Overall, yummy food just a bit disappointed with the service and timing!

It’s 2023 and racism is still rife in this town. Clearly ‘Dip’ isn’t used to serving or even seeing people of colour. If you aren’t white, you won’t be treated as a person here, do not go. A special thanks to the red-haired man working out the back who treated my 13 year old brother as a criminal when he went to use the bathroom.

We had a lovely French lunch here and ordered some takeaway frozen pre-prepared meals too. The food was good - we would have preferred more vegies with the mains to create more balance. The place has a good vibe, friendly staff though the service was a little slow. Will go and try brunch there one day too. It's on the more expensive side but definitely worth a visit.

Was disappointing considering so many good reviews. Service was slow only 1 waitress on a Sunday. The barista seemed to do nothing while the waitress was super busy and just hang out at his coffee machine. Won’t be going back

Delicious food and friendly service.
We had the buttermilk pancakes with crispy bacon, Russian eggs and a sweet pastry (rhubarb). The pastry was really fresh with crisp pastry, if you’re looking for a croissant or other pastry then this is the place.
There is a small range of fresh smoothies, my boyfriend had the Berry smoothie which seemed packed full of fruit, my coffee was also excellent.
A decadent breakfast that was worth every bite.

Stumbled upon Dip on our last visit to Byron and it has become a staple for our family ever since...the eggs benny is the best I’ve ever had, the croque madame is devine and the croissants usually sell out by 9am cause they’re delicious. They also do dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, good old fashioned French cooking full of flavor...if u haven’t been here, make sure you visit when next in Byron!!!

I am staying with my Daughter and Son in Law across the street from Dip. We have had breakfast there a few times and the food and coffee has been very nice. However the attitude of the male server and the coffee maker is rude beyond belief. Firstly when you line up to be seated as stated by their sign there is no greeting. They go on making coffee and cleaning tables as if you are invisible. Eventually today the coffee maker nodded at me, I asked if I could have the table for one inside that was clean.
He didn’t listen for a second to what I had said, just said sorry, for me to repeat what I had said again. Before I could repeat the request he began a conversation with the waiter who brushed past without out acknowledging a person was even standing there. Invisible once again. I appreciate they are busy and I’m prepared to wait but please ! Welcome your PAYING customer and if busy say, I’ll be with you in a moment. That’s the most basic of customer service skills. I left and never to return. So many other good restaurants in Byron Bay.
I’m giving them 3 stars for the food and coffee only.

We had breafast at the Dip Cafe. Full on eggs, sausages, sourdough bread, fried patatos and grilled tomatoes. Fantastic breafast completely stuffed!!!!. Excellent coffee. Plus staff were friendly and attentive.

Ridiculously good food done right. Often very busy, so go early or later to avoid queues. Well worth the wait. French quality by the beach :) Galettes or eggs Benedict are divine. Try them all! We have visited 20-30 times and continue to come back :) Thanks Dip ;)

Loved reading the reviews and decided to check out for ourselves. Being from Melbourne, we’re lucky to have brunch options everywhere....this place is an absolute standout and the food (we had the big breakfast) was tasty and so flavoursome. Also had a banana milkshake and having real banana in it was just so refreshing. Staff were super friendly too - Amazing eatery 👌

Everything you could want for an enjoyable relaxed breakfast - excellent service, good coffee, fresh juices and a brand menu. Kudos to the employees - happy, efficient, helpful. Loved this cafe.

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Dip.
Our Croque Madame veggo style spinach instead of ham was amazing we shared this and were both full.
My Darlings coffee was really good and extra hot as requested.
Service was really friendly and efficient.
I loved the sign also with "DIP"cut out of a round piece of timber.

Dip Licensed Café, done up like a Parisian Bar/Cafe is our “go to” place for coffee and brunch. With a friendly French staff, a fully stocked bar, authentic French menu and amazing coffee, I have no hesitation in recommending it. One of our favourite haunts in Byron Bay.

Had the full English with pork sausages (rare in Australia as usually beef). Smashed potatoes delicious too. Possibly best breakfast we’ve had. Wonderful service too. Will be back!
