Great Israeli food down that cool misty alley beyond Byron’s Beach Hotel. Great value for healthy Israeli mixed plates including falafel, pickled cucumber, sauerkraut, hummous, and various other middle eastern style foods with fresh bred pockets to put it all in. This place has been in Byron for decades, its a bit of an institution. Kind of a cooler, bohemian Bay Kebab without that drunk late night feel to it. The restaurant is small, pokey and very Byron. There are fans to keep you cool, but in summer its always warm so you are better off sitting in their alfresco area. Their home-made lemonade is a nice touch, as are the local beers which you can buy by the bottle.

This "hole in the wall" Israeli takeaway with seats was recommended by friends who live locally. We ordered some pocket pitas (one beef and one Falafel) and grabbed a chair and table to enjoy and absorb the atmosphere of the place itself and the passing traffic in the laneway. Food came quickly with fresh pita filled to the top with various salads, again very fresh, tasty beef kofta and of course the falafel. Both were excellent and we will happily return when we next visit Byron.

Lovely food and a fair price. We got the mega platter for 3 and we couldn’t finish it all. The meats were very tasty and it reminded me of when I lived in the Middle East. The falafel were very tasty and not oily at all. All in all, it was a great meal and the staff were extremely friendly. I’ll go back before we leave Byron.

We were tempted to try some middle eastern food while visiting Byron for the weekend. What a mistake this place was..
The lady behind the counter was either hang over or otherwise had no clue how to use a POS system, utterly useless.
But that was just the beginning.. we had the starter plate, $19 for some dry bread not even warmed up and a bit of humus.. them mains chicken skewer for $28.50 but there was only very little chicken on the two skewers and some salad and two half of flat bread. Very blend taste of everything, lacking salt and other seasoning... overall, what a rip off!
Do not up there!

The pictures of the food looked so promising. We opted for the share platter for 2 for 60 some dollars. We got an overpriced plate of food that was so bland. The only thing that tasted good were the falafel balls.
We should have known this was not going to taste authentic when we saw backpackers serving the food.
An overpriced waste of money in my opinion. Non authentic and fried, frozen, pre-made food. 2 starts for the falafel + polite servers.

Do yourself a favour and eat here as often as you can when in Byron. Half pocket pita bread with salad, falafels, tahini and hummus is very filling. Chips with herbs tasty. The plate full of falafels, tahini, hummus, pickles and more was delicious and gluten free. Absolutely love this place. Fast service.

I paid $23 for a lamb pita pocket & the pieces of lamb were so tough I couldn't chew them or digest them. The first piece was so full of gristle I had to spit it out and the rest of the lamb cut in 1 inch cube portions needed to be slow cooked to tenderise rather than be quickly pan fried. I had a stomach ache during the night and was bloated and felt ill still the next morning. Over-priced and very disappointing.

I have been to Orgasmic for dinner with a friend of mine. We had the hummus plate and extra falafels and pita bread. We paid 24$ for two people. The hummus was good as well as the falafel that were crunchy and not oily at all.

Every time we are in Byron, this is one of our first pit stops. Once again, it did not disappoint. After a long day of travel and exercise walking to the lighthouse, our hungry stomachs were keen on something bigger so we got the Mega platter. 12 delicious falafels, with chicken schnitzel, a lamb and chicken skewer (ran out of mince patties) with a great mix of heat and fresh salads, chilli's, dips and pita pockets. It is a bit pricey but well worth it as we left with full bellies. With only 2 people you may have to be patient during busy times but if you're like us on holidays then it's no bother as long as the food comes out so we can eat it. Washed the food down with some delicious fresh lemonade too. Enjoy!!

We were walking along the street in Byron when these young girls where giving out sample of the food so naturally we tried them. Wow yummo so of course we had to find out where the place was they were made and go and sample more food.
Although a little on the pricey side it is well worth it.
The falafels are amazing and all the food is fresh hot and super tasty.

Got tempted by the free falafels on the road. They were delicious. Got there and got a chicken skewer platter - very disappointing , second time in my life i have not eaten my dinner. the other time was in a third world country . The chicken was boiled on a skewer and 0 flavour so disappointed not even grilled to look like it’s been freshly grilled.

We had the falafel plate with salads etc.
Really good and comes with warm breads.
Generous portions of falafel hummus and bread though I would have liked a bit more salad, sauerkraut and pickles.
The music was blaring when we came in and the waitress was yelling over the top of it to take our order, I had to ask her to turn it down.
She turned it down though it was still to loud, I like music on though it's a cafe not a nightclub.

We had the pita sandwiches.
Thwy were fresh and they tasted good. But they lost a few stars for the following
we had to wait a while longer then I felt 2e should, a lot of people got their food before us who arrived after us. I'm not sure if we were forgotten and we onlu ordered 2 chicken pockets.
I also thought it was too expensive for what it was. Even with Byron bay pricing

Oh my goodness. I've had falafels all over the world (most in the middle east) and hands down this little Byron joint is seriously the best falafel I've had.
You'd think "Not much goes into falafel...the balls, some salad items, tahini, hommous perhaps. How much can you do with such a simple combo?"
Well for starters the pita pockets were just extraordinarily fluffy and fresh. They'd done something with the tahini...it wasn't straight out of a bottle. I couldn't place it but damn it was good. The falafel balls were are great recipe, not dense and heavy but moist and fluffy also. Little pickles in with the salad.
Bonus was hearing the (I assume) owner speaking Hebrew. Dead give away for knowing his stuff!
If I had more time in Byron I would've come back here for a full meal. Next time for sure.

A hidden gem!
We stumbled across this - getting a bite to eat before a kayak trip.
Food was incredible.
We got a sharing plate, and the lady was great at advising us what was best to order between two.
So so so tastes, fresh & full of flavour.
Very reasonably priced too.
Definitely worth a visit.
No frills! Would highly recommend.
