This hotel is a great spot to pop in for a meal, lovely views out the back of the hotel, chef very helpful, friendly and obliging.

Have in the past enjoyed a country pub meal here but not so now . Hot meals & coffee served luke warm. Damper so hard it could break your teeth. Waste of money! Disappointing doesn’t nearly cover it … do your homework & go elsewhere...! A great opportunity to build on the reputation of a good old country pub overlooking the river … lost on the owner & management & staff alike ! Never Again !!More
Rude dishonest management. Speaks to patrons and staff in a very disrespectful manner. No foxtel no tab facilities lack of heating/cooling. Could be a lovely old pub but lacking care and general maintenance such a shame.
No one to judge the weight of anyone but cover up!! 2 bigger chefs , looking so sloppy and unkempt.. shirts didn’t cover their belly!! Not a great look. If I had of seen this before I’d ordered I probably wouldn’t have eaten there. Food...well below a good pub feed. Overcooked and tasted bad. Looked bad. No garnish, just overall unpleasant. Definitely will not be eating here againMore
Nice chips and gravy! We stopped for a squick sneak while driving thru. Service was fast and food was fresh and tasty. My husband had a fish burger ge said was excellent. Old premises, that didn't matter. It was clean.
The pub is a bit of a mess. Nothing has been done to upkeep it in years. The staff are so friendly though and the food was average but pretty good for the price paid.
I had a really good mal here in2016 so I thought I'd go there again. Don't bother. 5:30pm We pulled into what was the carpark to find it was being seconded as a storage yard ford what appeared to be a formwork company including multiple...shipping containers & dead trucks & trailers. WE went to enter the "bistro" via the beer garden only to find it in total darkness & furniture stacked where I ate last time in the beer garden We turned around & left, had a great meal at tea Gardens Hotel about 30 minutes south. This pub is in bad shape these days, probably not recovering from the lockdowns. Even their Web page has goneMore
The service here is absolutely disgraceful!!! We love supporting little towns when we travel and generally find staff to be friendly and helpful, not the case this time. On our way north we stopped for lunch and a drink, when asked what time the bistro...closed the response was, "now". The lady was so rude and clearly not enjoying her job or wanting to have a last sale to a group of people who were hungry. We grabbed a drink and sat out the back which was lovely. On the way back home we thought we would try again, this time for dinner. We waited at the counter and were totally ignored by all staff. We stood there and a group came up behind us and still no acknowledgement from any staff even though they could clearly see us. After being totally ignored we decided to leave and have dinner else where. We noted the people behind us did the same as we all wondered why no one wanted to serve us dinner. It was only 6.30 so not close to end of service. Again missing a group booking for meals. Surely a place like this should be loving visitors wanting to support them. For years we have had this as our stop in on our travels but not any more. Management really need to review staff and try welcoming guests not turning them away!!!More
Fantastic meals, generous servings, friendly service, lovely river views. Will definitely be our new local!
Bulahdelah is a small country town with one pub containing the Plough Inn and while you don’t expect a pub to be 5 star our experience was less that acceptable. To begin with we asked for table water and the waitress brought 4 glasses held...on with her fingers on the inside of the glass. The meals were very average with my bangers and mash consisting on 2 fat pork sausages and a lumpy mash swimming in a bath of butter. As it’s the only pub in town with a quality Bowling club nearby as competition, they need to lift their game.More
With out a doubt the worst service, Basil Faulty would cringe. Get rid of the girl on the till. Rude. Ordered 2 steaks 25 minutes and rubbish food
Great pub overlooking the Myall River. Homey front bar, large bistro with fast friendly service of generous sized portions of an extensive menu of typical pub grub.
Decided to go to the Plough Inn for dinner with friends. Big mistake. Staff were unfriendly. Everything was such a effort to even buy a drink. Meal I order crumb cutlets with vegetables was absolutely disgusting. The cutlets wern't even cook. Shipping containers etc in...car park, blocking the view of the river. It used to be a lovely pub. Not now.More
Called in for a quick lunch with some work colleagues, very disappointing. Waiting for the girl to finally serve us at the bar without even a smile. Lunch was worse with a girl that had zero personality and made us feel like we were disturbing...her day somehow. Food was average with one meal rump steak, completely uneatable because of how tough it was. Let the zero personality girl know the steak was terrible which she responded “oh was it”. I appreciate that prices of food are on the increase but that shouldn’t mean food quality and customer service drops away. Shame to see this pub in the hands of people who don’t care. Will be a long time before I spend another $150 here!!!More
Not a friendly, welcoming pub. There is a fire in the bar which was great. Had dinner, it was reasonably priced. Hubby’s steak was cooked exactly how he asked, food was fresh.
