Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a detour off the road to visit the bakery. Chose vanilla slice - well ummmm......
It was tasteless, the custard was rubbery, with only a smear of icing.
Date scones were good and my husband said his pie was good.

Pies were ok and social distancing is enforced but people stop here from all over the place. They only take cash which the staff are handling, giving change etc. Perfect way to pass on COVID with no record of who’s been there. A weak link in the Covid chain of possible transmission

This bakery was super busy as lots of people are on summer holiday driving somewhere or another is included. We didn’t want to stop at the usual service centres on the highway and pulled off into Buladelah. The pies we had were okay. Cakes didn’t look very appealing and couldn’t believe they used mock cream in their lamingtons.

Have been to this Bakery two times this week and on each occasion the older woman in the Bakery has been very rude on both occasions to my wife and other customers.
Made allowances on the first occasion but not on the second occasion.
There is no need for it.
Lovely 😊 pies unfortunately staff not the same.
There area great bakeries making great pies all over the place!

The staff member was rude and obnoxious from the moment we entered the store, totally not interested in serving, wouldn’t listen, gave us wrong items and deliberately overcharged us. The cakes were dry and taste less. Flies on the bread. Will not buy anything again from them and we are locals.

Standards have not improved since my last visit. Pies still watery and lacking meat. Sausage roll was very greasy and custard tart bland no flavour. Service was fine no complaints just your standard country bakery.

This has become our go to stop as we drive the pacific highway. Their pies are great with plenty of flavour options, but our absolute fave is the bread. Their high-top loaves always look a bit burned on top but the taste is fabulous with a beautiful crust. Knocks spots off most other bread. Always worth a detour to get a quality product. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Keep driving. Purchased 3 pies which were on the smaller side and barely ok, the curry pie tasted like the lid had come off the spice bottle and it had all fallen into the mixture - not pleasant at all. Worst though was the large sponge cake with icing, jam and cream that was dry, stale and had probably been sitting in the cabinet for at least 2-3 days. Quality of the product was terrible and food was overpriced with poor customer service. Don’t waste your time or money.

On the northern Stroud St shopping block end, you might see a line forming outside the Bulahdelah Bakery.
The shop is little more than a hole in the wall but don’t be fooled, this is a great collection of bread, pastries and very-very good pies and sausage rolls.
PS. The term ‘great coffee’ is somewhat overused but the café next door really does have it.

Super rude staff!! The food is not good enough to put up with that level of rudeness. Also it’s cash only, it’s 2020 and about time they accepted card payments. Not to mention the whole covid contactless idea.

This is the best bakery we have ever been to and we go to a lot. Friendly service and very good prices. The pies were lovely and the cream buns yum And then the high top bread well worth stopping at.

Can’t say the curry pie was delicious as it sure was NOT. It’s small, and the curry flavour was just not nice.
Had a 1 finger bun also which was $3 each, but if you bought 4 in a pre packed bag they were only $6. I feel they are just in it for the quick dollars these days.
The business is trading well - but the consumer is not all that happy with the product I feel. I’ll avoid this bakery in future .

We have heard good reviews, so on our road trip we stopped at Buladelah bakery.
Pies ordered were a chicken, curry beef, tomato and onion and a sausage roll.
1. Chicken pie had great flavours and nice pieces of chicken throughout with peas and corn, the pastry was nicely cooked and not flaky and messy which was great.I will order this again at some stage when we return this way.
2. Curry beef pie. Hubby enjoyed this pie and the curry flavour had a mild spicy curry taste after finished. This was very good pie nice pastry and not flaky. Will get again.
3. Beef Tomato and onion pie. Really good flavour and nice sized pieces of tomato and onion pastry was cooked well and wasn’t messy eating. Would buy this again.
4. Sausage roll I really enjoyed we both tried half each. I enjoyed the flavour and texture and the meat wasn’t firm and compact like some you buy. I would buy one again. Hard to find a great sausage roll but I enjoyed this one. We would both get this again.

This bakery is great we were told, sadly that is not so. The pie was average at best & was full of jelly like sauce with minimal meat. There is a large selection of sweets, however no fresh cream is used in any.
This is not a bakery I would go out of my way to stop at.

The bread is great, the pies a little on the dry side but the flavour is great. The family pies are very, very expensive. I feel the packaging of the sweet pastries could be better than a paper bag as they get squashed.
