Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in Bowral for a week and visited this French styled bakery several times. We purchased pies, sour dough bread and had a coffee. It can be very busy with a line-up at times and the store is very small. Good outdoor seating area...to have eat and enjoy a coffee.More

A BIG. Disappointing experience. After going for 20 years, this place has gone bad. Two days in a row I got burnt, hard and dry sausage rolls and pies. Even worse, when I complained the young woman said call Michael on Monday in Mittagong. I...also noticed the prize ribbons have gone , so I am guessing new owner who is not a pastry chef.More

Have heard and read many reviews of the cakes, slices and yummy treats. Today I was very lucky to buy the “best seller” Vanilla Slice.. 😊 over the years of visiting, always told they are sold out. Lucky for me, I got my own experience...today and wasn’t it a delight. Yum and very delicious. AmazingMore

Went for a family day trip and went for brunch here. I have been here before and was not as busy from previous stop. Food was ok as we had pies and sausage rolls before indulging in some cakes after. Disappointed in the fact as...they have all these award winning cakes written on their window but when asked to buy one they don’t make anymore or was only made for the certain competition. If you won 🏆 a competition with a certain cake wouldn’t you keep making it as a draw card.More

We travel from Canberra and drop into Gumnut on our way back to Sydney. Although overrated and priced, we still drop in for a sausage roll and sweet treat on the way through. Think the quality has dropped off over the years, although the lines...haven’t!More

Amazing cakes and treats. Not the cheapest place in town, but worth every single cent. Try the Caramel Slice for a small taste of heaven.

Absolutely loved our breakfast stop at Gumnuts - the pastries and donuts were sensational. Wish we had such a bakery more local to us! We’ll be back again tomorrow, definitely recommend! Worst part is that they only have outdoor seating.

We’ve stopped here a few times - every time we’re in the Southern Highlands, and it NEVER disappoints! There’s a huge range of pastries, cakes, breads and pies. Something for everyone! The coffee is not bad as well. Sometimes there’s a line up around the...corner - well worth the wait. If you can’t decide, go for the party tray at just over $30 you get a fabulous petite selection of 12 of their best. You must stop here… they have freezer bags too if you want to keep more pastries fresh to gobble down later.More

I like exploring the local shops while being on a road trip. As I have sweet tooth, I Google search where to go for some sweets then I've found this place as I saw them with many awards.. There was a dining area outside of...the shop (if they have outdoor gas heater, I'm sure there will be even more customers. Anyways, we have ordered some pies and quiche to share for two adults and two kids. What I was very looking forward was the sweets after the savory. As the vanilla slice was highly recommended from the reviews, I've bought one and a mixed berry tart. The staff also cut them into halves on request. We all enjoyed the sweets, especially the we loved the vanilla slice so much. The generous portions of the vanilla custard with the pastry went very well. I like the fact that the sweetness was just right for us so you can taste the vanilla custard. You can tell that it's freshly made with high quality of ingredients too. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth to pay this shop a visit.More
