Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A group of friends having a weekend away and stopped here for an impromptu lunch. Service was great and fast. Mocktails were lovely and the food exceptional. Perfect introduction to our Bowral stay

Lovely Friday lunch at Harry’s. Lovely food and delightful staff. Very much enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the crab linguini.

Recommended by family who had enjoyed lunch here however…the breakfast crew leave a lot to be desired. Totally ignored by the 4 or 5 members of staff when we entered. Found our own table and ignored by staff again. Got up and walked out. Went...to an establishment 30 yards away who understand how important it is to make customers welcome.More

Booked table for wedding anniversary lunch. Ordered entrees and mains within 5 mins of being seated. Drinks came in 5 mins or so later. Then waited and waited and waited. After 50 mins expressed politely our frustration at waiting so long and seeing other tables...who were seated after us getting served already. This was merely brushed off with a ‘that must be the bell for yours nowI can hear’… it wasn’t. Then saw people who had been seated 15-20 mins after us receiving the same entree as we had ordered so spoke to another waitress - ‘I’ll see what’s happened’ After an hour of waiting we decided to leave. A man who I assume was the manager pointed two fingers at me like one of the Wiggles and said ‘it’s just coming’ - didn’t even apologise!! To which I said forget it and left. Later that evening I received a call from what sounded like the same man apologising for our terrible experience explaining our order had been misplaced by the system and it was our waitress’s first day. I gave the benefit of the doubt and said ok it was a bad experience but these things happen. I was offered a $50 voucher as compensation and confirmed my email was correct they had from my booking and promised it would be sent to me. It is a week later and I have not received it. Not only did they spoil my wedding anniversary, but they are liars. This restaurant is all show and no go. Do not use.More

My partners meal was delicious (beef rib) so so good! Mine was not. The confit duck was not confit. It was rubbery and with not rendered fat, it was very hard to cut and chew. The Paris mash was also like glue. Must have run...out of time and blitzed with metal blades. Flavours were nice though if you overlook the bad cooking. Creme'brulee was delicious Staff were lovelyMore

Was very disappointment with my meal the linguine with blue swimmer crab. The meal cost was $35 and as fas as I could see there was the linguine and no swimmer crab. On asking they informed me they use 100 grams but unfortunately is shrinks...considerably when cooked. I did write an email direct to the restaurant and would have left it there but after receiving the response decided to leave this review. Was told that this was their best dish on the menu and that they had people coming there on a regular basis just to have this dish which I do find this very hard to believe.More

We had a birthday party of 18 for a late lunch. The venue was so interesting - eclectic and beautiful with walls covered in old masters paintings. The food was sooo good. The scallops, croquettes, beef cheek and trout were all delicious. Service was lovely.

I wish we’d not bothered. Went here once before and recall it being small, cramped, overcrowded and very average. This second time is definitely the last! So bloody expensive and the bacon and egg roll was literally one small rasher of bacon and one very...small egg with some green leaves, for $12.50 each! All up $36.50 for two rolls and two large coffees! We walked up Bong Bomg Street and saw the sane thing for $13 each including a medium coffee! Unbelievable. Like I said, never again. Shop around, there’s much better value in town, and more comfortable too.More

Fantastic ambience with lovely pictures and paintings surrounding the walls of the restaurant. It creates a lovely French/Victorian style of decor. The staff are very courteous. I had the blue swimmer crab which was surprisingly salty. They have a wide selection of wines, champagne which...adds onto a lovely atmosphere be it lunch or dinner. However, would greatly recommend to all.More

My wife and I had a beautiful lunch here. Great spot, food and service. We shared oysters, then I had the beef cheeks and she the salad. Crème brûlée for dessert and nice wines too. Best lunch we’ve had in ages.

We always take our visitors to Harry’s and a couple of them feel like locals now as they chat to the staff about time in between. However the star of Harry’s is the food. Although the menu is not extensive it is fabulous. We have...now tried every dish and are never disappointed. Try the scallops, the oysters, the linguine, and the beef cheek - all amazing and as is everything else. Good wine choice and very good coffee. Perfect.More
