The food is absolutely wonderful but on busy nights it deffo needs more help in the kitchen. Sofie, our waitress was running around doing her very best and we felt very sorry for her as she was having to appologise for problems in the kitchen, having to deal with flak from complaining customers when it was not her fault. We eat here a lot when visiting in laws in Bourke and always get great meals; the chef really dishes up a treat.

The food here is to die for. The chef really knows how to cook and his results off the grill are amazing. The meat quality is superb and you can watch him cook the meat if you desire. Best food we've has in a long time. We ordered a sirloin and q lamb fillet.

What a great pub we found in Bourke. Well run covid safe and friendy staff. The meat from the grill was very good and on a Friday its a 200 grm rump steak with chips and salad for $12.would fully recommend this pub for a cold beer on the veranda.

So Bourke slows down as the summer heats up. The hotel had a limited menu with all the basic pub staples. The chicken schnitzel was over done and the rump steak was so thin you could almost see through it. Beer was cold and fresh

I was happy when I saw a 500g rib fillet on the bone for $38. Unfortunately it was the worst steak I’ve ever had, more fat and grizzle than meat. Salad looked and tasted like it was 3 days old. Even the chips were crap and undercooked. I had 2 schooners too which tasted terrible, overall bad experience - certainly won’t be back

I'm sorry you have had a bad experience, our meat is of the highest quality and we have fresh produce delivered twice a week, I have brought this review to my head chefs attention. I would have appreciated you coming to see me on the night as we get pretty much positive reviews and I would have appreciated the opportunity to rectify this at the time. Regards Luke

From a first impression your realise this is a well run property, great presentation and well maintained inside and out. The service was friendly and conversational, sharing knowledge of the history of the hotel and the area. The beer was cold with both notifier and conventional brews, I had the James Squires Pale Ale off the tap. We decided to come back for dinner and we were very impressed with the quality and reasonable prices for high quality items in the menu. What stood out most was the main course was great - but the accompanying vegetables were flavoursome and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this place 🍻🥂🥩🍗🍖

This pub has a reasonable ambience in the bar and on the front verandah. However, the bistro area was very off-putting with a concrete floor and a feeling of being in a shed. Perhaps in the hotter weather, with the beer garden busy, it would feel more welcoming? We ordered our meals in the bistro and ate them in the bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful. My request as to what options there might be for vegetarians was a response from the cook that he would do a veggie pasta dish for me. It always pays to ask! My pasta was very good. Glad I hadn't settled for a vegetarian pizza, which are available in the bar. They are in plastic in the fridge and heated up in an oven behind the bar. Not my idea of good pizza. My partner's meat meal was pronounced reasonable. Good range of beers on tap, nice and cold. Overall, a decent enough pub meal.

Walked past the pub at lunch time and saw the tables on the veranda in the sun. Decided that we could while away an hour sitting there! Glad we did! Limited lunch time menu - pizza or hamburgers, so we chose the hamburgers. Delicious! Home-made meat patties and delicious crunchy chips. Washed down with a cold beer while sitting in the sun. How delightful!

Delicious meal the first night but not as good the second. Uncertain if that was due to our choices or the cook. The steak was wonderful as was the Tandoori Chicken but the Lemon Pepper Chicken was juicy but oddly coupled with bacon and the cutlets were not thrilling. So the food was excellent to average resulting in a score of very good. Staff were very good at social distancing, hygiene rules and cleaning of public space.

We were a group touring North Western NSW who all enjoyed their meal from the Bistro. The Steak and salad with chips was cooked perfectly - medium rare. The salt and pepper squid was great - also served with salad. Some enjoyed the steak with vegetables. All meals were wholesome and satisfying. Dessert was cheesecake with ice cream and caramel sauce - it was great! Thank you Chef "Dangar".

Great food, good sized meals. Didn’t have to wait too long and it was a busy night. Kids meal came with only 1 serve of tomato sauce which my youngest wanted more. The friendly gentleman serving us was more than happy to help out my little boy as he told him he had asked for more with his lovely manners 😄 the kids area is also amazing. Kids were entertained whilst I was able to enjoy the night. Definitely will be back.

This hotel opposite the river and wharf area of Bourke has quite a good dining area, inside and outside. We enjoyed a fish and chips lunch one day and a roast the next night. For a pub it is quite pleasant surrounds and the food was quite good and well-priced. There is plenty of parking nearby. The bar areas are also spacious and the staff friendly.

Because there are few other evening meal options, this place gets busy, so you may want to visit early. The wait time is reasonable but they can run out of seating. I was disappointed that I went two days in a row and both times they'd sold out of ribs at lunchtime. Why don't they learn that ribs are popular and to order more in? The food was mostly good, although I had some plain gravy that was awful. I'd go back again, particularly as it's a nice place for a drink before dinenr.

Came to the Port of Bourke when we first arrived looking forward to a country pub meal for lunch. Fisherman's basket was dry and tasteless and the pizza was pre frozen packet pizza that had been over cooked. Came back on our last night 7 days later. The roast was pathetic at best. Not worth the $42 incl beer and soft drink ($22 each). Furthermore while they advertise that that they accept the discover and dine NSW state government vouchers when we presented our voucher we were told that someone had logged out and they couldn't get the system back on line. Lift your game Bourke. Your restaurant's are letting your town down.
