In the Hotel foyer and main bar, we have tried to capture the spirit of those halcyon days when Bourke was a busy port, woolgrowers were prosperous and the labor movement was stirring in Bourke. Elsewhere the hotel is contemporary, reminding ourselves that Bourke has modern, colourful rural industries operated by real people. The Hotel began its life as "The Royal" in 1863. It was then renamed the "Old Royal Hotel" and took on a heritage flavour, and it had a major facelift in 1993 before its renaming and re-energising as "The Port of Bourke Hotel" in July 1997. * Country style accommodation at the hotel is available all year. * Counter meals are available 7 days a week 12-2pm. * The bistro

A group of us came in to have dinner. Service at the counter with buzzer when ready. We ordered steaks which were very large, snitzells also big.
The salad bar is extensive and the vegetable bar very good.
Worth a try
We booked a double room it was crowded and had very little room to move around, so I tried a different room which had single beds no fridge and no TV in the room.I feel this is very poor considering they charged $90 p/n and...More
Cant go wrong with Kiev, but potato salad, cauliflower bake andpotato bake over cooked and no taste.
T-bone steak was ok.
Some salads were great especially the tinned beetroot. Lol

Had dinner here with colleagues and was just great. Good was beautiful (although my steak was a bit overcooked :( ), and house wine was great.
Staff were friendly locals and very efficient.
Decor inside and out was intriguing.
Definitely would go here again

Sorry you had a bad experience Tracey we have just started to renovate the rooms including painting and new furniture recently as such the prices for the rooms are very cheap.
You look at the board and go, "holy $%*#!". Then you put that first mouthful of steak into your mouth and go , "HOLY $%*#!!!!!" It's worth every cent. Top cuts of meat, superbly cooked. A great selection of salads and cooked veggies etc. that...More
Fantastic Steak, cooked to perfection. Bistro is in a kind of indoor/outdoor area and your meal is cooked pretty much in front of you. There is a good selection of salads but I had the veggies that are a self sleeve arrangement. As far as...More
