Elsewhere the hotel is contemporary, reminding ourselves that Bourke has modern, colourful rural industries operated by real people. The Hotel began its life as "The Royal" in 1863. It was then renamed the "Old Royal Hotel" and took on a heritage flavour, and it had a major facelift in 1993 before its renaming and re-energising as "The Port of Bourke Hotel" in July 1997. * Country style accommodation at the hotel is available all year. * Counter meals are available 7 days a week 12-2pm. * The bistro

Had dinner here with colleagues and was just great. Good was beautiful (although my steak was a bit overcooked :( ), and house wine was great. Staff were friendly locals and very efficient. Decor inside and out was intriguing. Definitely would go here again
