Absolutely loved it! The chefs ‘Feed Me’ menu was amazing. So many different taste sensations and not having to chose was very nice. The wine list is extensive and we thoroughly enjoyed our choices. The staff are helpful and efficient, the actual restaurant is lovely...to dine in and we loved it all. We stayed overnight in Berrima on our road trip but intend to go back in winter just to dine here again. A highlight of our holiday.More

I did have high expectations- but was left disappointed. A rather rushed delivery … lots of courses instantly on the table and a keenness to remove the plates before we had finished .. The meal was pleasant.., the lamb and dessert the standout from the...‘feed me’ degustation meal.More

chefs table menu was amazing, plenty of food and catered for different dietary requirements Due to two seating time restrictions the service did let it down by 1 star as we were rushed to leave at the end as advised they were short staffed. Not...really the paying customers issue. One guest had their dessert removed from table before they had finished. Perhaps advice to serving staff not to offer coffee if time constraints would cause customers to feel rushed at the end. Or perhaps setup outside area with a open fire place to allow your customers to retreat there to have coffee so to allow enough time to reset for 2nd seating. 2 hours to serve the amount of amazing food provided is not long enough, to ensure the customer experience matched the brilliant food.More

This is the best meal my partner and I have had in years. I am a good cook and find it hard to find food out that is as tasty as I can do at home. I love eating out but am often just a...bit disappointed. Not tonight. We had the chefs choice option and it was excellent. If I had to pick fault, the portions were a little large for 7 dishes but oh so delicious. Everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully prepared. The swordfish was particularly delicious tender and moist. The desert, little raspberry and crème anglaise tarts with creamy vanilla gelato and chocolate was perfect. Also this restaurant was good value. We live in Sydney and I don’t think we could find anything as good unless we were prepared to spend 2x as much. Take a trip to Berrima and eat at this restaurant, you will have a excellent meal.More

I visited Eschalot last weekend with my work team, we organised a celebratory lunch there for 10. I was blown away by literally every. single. detail. Cass and Matty and their crew make you feel welcome, cared for, nothing is too much trouble (well, I...am sure some things could be so don’t get too demanding 😉) Sheridan and Cass looked after our very chatty and over excited group and they kept us watered, wined and fed. Sheridan walked us through our dining experience and helped with all requests beautifully. The interior and exterior of this restaurant are stunning, absolutely gorgeous. You experience the feeling of being cosy and relaxed but you know you are somewhere really special. Matty and his team created the most amazing menu. The food was stunningly presented and we were all fighting over the gnocchi and chicken and potatoes…on and the lamb! Oh and the kingfish ….and then the dessert came 🤤🤤🤤 The cocktails and wines were (I heard) delicious. And for the couple of us that weren’t drinking Cass was creating these delicious mocktails that had us double parked with our speedy ordering of more. I just loved it all. I think it is a tall order to create a space for everyone to feel welcome, to invite families with kids, couples on romantic dates, work teams, relaxed friends lunches and somewhere for that really special dinner, the “fancy” place…but these guys have done it, and done it beautifully. Being a perfectionist means I look for the smallest deficiencies, problems or generally anything I can find that I feel could be done better. Last night for the third time my wife and I dined at Eschalot and again went looking for deficiencies in the...food, service and the restaurant in general. For the third time I could not find a single thing I could complain about. The variety of food, the cooking of the food and the service of the food were sublime. The waitresses were extremely knowledgeful on the dishes being offered as well as portion sizes. They took orders and delivered meals effortlessly only intruding when necessary. Looking around our section I watched plates that had been scraped clean heading back to the kitchen. Obviously my wife and I were not the only patrons enjoying our night. If you looking for a restaurant that provides a wonderful dining experience Eschalot is the one.More

Heard about this restaurant from a family friend. It was fantastic. Great wine list, interesting menu, with everything being cooked to perfection. Was a perfect end to our babymoon.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Eschalot, sharing the experience with another couple. In a charming old home, dining tables are spread through several rooms: we had one to ourselves, which made it extra-special. It was like having a gourmet meal in our own home....The four of us opted for the Feed me menu, in which the chef decides the courses based on availability of fresh produce. There was a wide range of share plates, fish, meat, vegetarian followed by a delicious dessert. We chose an Aussie red to augment the meal. Service was friendly, efficient without being hurreid and pleasant. The food was universally excellent: perfectly cooked and very tasty. We liked the entire experience very much indeed and wouldn't hesitate to book again when in the vicinity.More
