Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most terrible experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We have a weekend we in Avoca and go most weekends and waited for a special occasion to try this pizza shop. $110 for one small pizza, one medium pizza, one entree garlic pizza dnd...one gluten free pasta, plus two beers and three waters. We ordered two small pizzas - got one. We ordered dairy free pasta - it came loaded with Parmesan cheese. Sloppy welcome. No customer service. Feel completely ripped off. Next time we’ll go to crust at Terrigal and spent half, and get what we pay for. Who can charge $110 for pizza??? Don’t go here.More

Great Italian dining. Casual feeling sitting outside on summer evening. Long list of pizza, pasta sauces. We were 6 adults 2 kids. Four Pizza were well cooked, crispy, thin crust. Great sauces, topping. We were allowed to book for 5.30...eating by 6.30pm...despite busy take away,...our 4 pizza arrived after about 20 minutes. Young counter server took some convincing to run a tab rather than pick n pay each items...good choice of alcohol, low price low quality...pity their Facebook page does not maintain up to date menu. Byo wine only for corkage. We chose to buy a few glasses, few bottle beers..about $8__$10 each.More

Great pizza and lovely service. They were able to accommodate us, even without a booking. Pizza was delivered quick and tasty. Perfect place to eat for families and central to everything. Will visit again.

I can only review what we had and that was just Pizza and out was great. The hour wait was a bit annoying but I suppose t that's what you pay for popularity. The outside seating was just ok. I noticed well presented pasta dishes...going past our table and heard sooner very positive comments from other guests making me wish I had ordered a pasta dish as well and maybe this would have been 5 stars. Next time I will and do another review. Byo is great and staff were really good.More

Licenced and byo wine, corkage $2.50pp. Staffed by " very young" people which is good owners give the youngins a go. Counter odering conversation bit challenged sometimes. Pay on ordering, pizza delivered...to table ( number). Pizza are thin crusted, full of topping, very flavoursome. Pleasant sitting on the street, thoigh teenages bit over the top. More swearing than a truckie.!!. Long list of pizza, pasta options. Pizza range from $14 to $26.More

As we arrived we asked if the table outside was available NO was all we got, nothing about waiting or tables inside are available. Waited well over an hour for the glass of wine and if the water wasn't self serve that might of been...the same! Finally after asking we received our order 2 hours and 15 minutes later. I suggest you go the take away option. No apology for the lateness. I suggest a bit of customer training might assist this place!More

Dinner on a balmy night in January. COVID spacing meant it was a bit of a shuffle to fit in 3 people with no booking. But they did and looked as if they had been getting lots of practice. This place is seriously popular and...that's a good indicator. Order at the counter and it took just 20 minutes for our pizzas to arrive...that's a GOOD effort for pizzas on a full house night. Pizzas were excellent - thin crust - could not have asked for better. Desserts - served quickly because we wanted time for a sunset walk on the beach. Well priced - I disagree with other reviewers. I tell you what....it doesn't get much better than a quick pizza meal at Avoca Beach pizza. 10/10 from meMore

We ordered spaghetti bolognaise, 2 pizzas and a burger to take away. It cost $85! Pizzas and pasta were below average but burger was great. We ordered a calzone and received a pepperoni pizza instead. Didn’t realize until we got home. Somewhat disappointed!

Ordered a Spaghetti Marina which cost $21.90, the marina mix was disgusting, it was old and mushy. The prawns and mussels were no bigger than a 5-cent piece and sparse. The whole ingredients for that meal would not have cost more than $2.50. It was...the worst marina I have ever had. There was also a human hair in the dish. After I paid the account, I told the cashier about my experience and I suggested that they would be better off buying their marina mix from Aldi. The pizza chef was smirking and smiling, I guess he has had other complaints about the pasta cook.More

We ordered what sounded like a great dish - smoked salmon and avocado crepes. My daughter had the Basil and chicken penne. It came to the table first. The crepes were 10 minutes later, overcooked to the point that the salmon was almost jerky. We...told the owner who came back with 2 glasses of wine to appease us while they made another bowl of penne which we shared. By then it was late and we were past hungry. The crepes should be taken off the menu. The sauce was tasteless and barely warm. Really disappointing.More

I eat here once a fortnight. The pizzas are very tasty and the salads big and fresh. In winter, they do fantastic soups. The owner puts on a jazz night every Thursday supporting the areas muso's. It's a fun place to be. Highly recommend Dorian...Mode with his Hammond Organ and band.More

I just dropped in to order a take-away meal having never been there before. The guy who initially approached the counter greeted me with a grimace and with a disinterested tone asked me if I wanted anything . After obviously taking too long ( for...his liking )in reading and selecting a meal from the menu, he seemed pleased when another staff member approached and took over the taking of my order . When I asked for the Bosciola pasta but without the bacon he then appeared to tell me why that was not possible --which he seemed to delight in . . .I then ordered a spaghetti bolognese instead, which was tasteless, with very little bolognese sauce and too much spaghetti. Overall, to be greeted initially in such an unfriendly manner shows these people know very little about " hospitality" or customer relations and clearly don't realize that it is in fact, the CUSTOMERS that are paying their wages . . I certainly would not bother spending any further time or money in their cafe. Nor would I recommend it to anyone else -- the meal was certainly not worth itMore

No it's definitely not open weekdays for lunch. they open 5pm weeknites. Lunch on Weekends only. They currently have live music every Thursday night, which would most likely require a booked table.
