Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely excellent. Have been coming here for over 8 years now whilst staying in the town. The food is always good. Visited 3 times over a week and honestly couldn’t fault any meals. The staff and service was fantastic. Highly recommend

The staff were friendly and the beer cold but the $20 pizza was less than ordinary. Really bland and tasted like it was a cheap frozen pizza that they put cheese on top of. I won't be going back which is shame as we've just...moved to the area and we're hoping this would be a nice local.More

The atmosphere was great, the only thing that really let it down was the massive chunk of fat on the steak and a medium-rare steak cooked well-done. Otherwise a great venue.

I checked into this hotel after my long night of fishing. I was cold and I was hungry. I was told that they were booked out but that I could stay the following day which I did as I had my camper to sleep in....I I asked the staff member in question if it was possible to have a shower and without missing a beat the answer was " of course". Within minutes I was given a towel and I don't under the shower. I stayed the next night and have such a great night at this place it was unbelievable. The staff member, "Jazz" was just amazing and it seemed she would bend over backwards to give greatest customer service. I think the boss should give her a pay increase! Other members of staff were also very friendly and made my stay enjoyable. The food was also very good value and yummy. The crowd at the bar and the locals are also amazingly friendly and I really enjoyed being there. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and plan to stay there again when I am in Adaminaby. This is Australian customer service at its best. And if you do stay there, say a big hello from Aussibear.More

Food was average. Hand crumbed chicken schnitzel was mass produced in a factory somewhere and straight out of the freezer. Nothing hand crumbed about it. Chips and salad were good. Service was quick and friendly. But don’t pretend your schnitzel is special when it is...very ordinary.More

Staying in nearby Anglers Reach, this was a great first night dinner... I had the local whole trout which was excellent. My boys had local highland beef scotch fillet and chicken schnitzel ..devoured it! Staff were exceptionally friendly during these crazy Covid times and made...us feel very welcome. Hand sanitizer a plenty and No Gestapo behaviour by anyone! Thank You!!!! We will definitely be back during our stay. If you are driving from nearby towns please slow down as there is wildlife about. We've lost so many through devastating bushfires, we need to now be extra careful on our roads...We gave way to an echidna and a couple of kangaroos.More

Went there on two occasions to eat and on both were offered pizzas only. I assume that they were also frozen pizzas. We wanted to have some hot chips some beers and were not able to. Maybe the Covid19 period of shut down has limited...kitchen staff. We might give it one more try but are not confident...More

We were a group of 9, bit surprised that their menu are mostly Thai. Felt glad since we love Thai food. We ordered mostly Thai dishes and steak. Steak was cooked perfectly to our preference but was bland and was on top of a mountain...of soggy chips and a side salad that had gravy with it. Thai dishes were huge and mostly taste good except for some. Bit disappointed of the crispy pork that came out as stir fried vegetables with little soggy fried pork. Dish name was misleading.More

We have dinner at the snow goose once every year- after a bad experience last year was really hesitant to go back but I’m so glad we did! The staff were lovely and the food was even better. My oldest had a burger which was...MASSIVE and was quite surprised he got through it. The kids meal came with an activity pack and a free desert. My middle boy had the schnitzel and all but inhaled it which is a good sign! My partner and I both had steaks which were cooked To perfection! The pepper gravy is more intense than at other places but was so good and the Dianne gravy was also very good! Thanks for a great night will see you next yearMore

I stayed in Adaminaby for a week exploring the trout streams in the area - which are amongst the most picturesque I've fished on. It even snowed on one of the days. I ate at Snow Goose twice and each night was terrific food. The...first night I had the special, a porterhouse 350g steak, cooked medium rare as requested with a delicious mushroom sauce. The second night they had a 'Thai' menu only - which was a real surprise. Given I was not in a large multicultural city - i admittedly had slight reservations but was completely blown away by the food! I had the thai bbq chicken with real toasted roti and it was the most tender, tasty chicken i had had for a long time. The coconut rice was subtle and fantastic. My friend has the massaman curry which was also great. The servings are huge and the perfect end to fishing all day. The bistro is part of the pub but separate from it. It has a real authentic charm and character with utes parked out the front and locals inside sharing a beer and a story. The staff at the Snow Goose are also awesome. Great Northern Brewing Co. beer on tap was also very tasty. If you are in the area be sure to stop for a meal here.More

I was with a group of people staying locally to do a spot of fishing so some hungry thirsty people hit the pub looking for a good meal and some cold drinks. The Snow Goose delivered on both and the friendly efficient staff were really..."on their game" including the genial "host" of the venue. Quite a few in but not crowded (it was a Friday night) and seemed popular with locals and tourists alike.Good food selction at a reasonable price and served quickly, well coooked and presented (I had the steak which was very tender and cooked to my preference) I heard mention of a Thai menu previoulsy but on the night I was there it was very much Aussie "pub grub" We were quite a large group (20 people) so had made a reservation and as most of the menu was covered by the group we were able to see pretty much each menu item and everyone washappy with the food they werer served. Thanks Snow Goose, see you next time!!More

Stayed in a hotel room upstairs recently. Single with TV and sink (water dribbled out) and toilet/shower in the hall. Overall not a bad room, but their charge for it was over the top. For that price, one would expect a very nice motel room....Had a meal of Thai food which I thoroughly enjoyed. Several of the diners however found their food very hot, so hot that several sent back their meal. Found all the people I dealt with to be very nice and obliging. Couldn't fault their good service.More
