This is my second review of the Mariners, the first review was really positive and we had a lovely Sunday lunch and left very full and very content. This time round, we couldn't believe we were in the same place. Meagre portions, and ridiculous pricing, food under cooked too. We stopped by for a quick lunch as we were in... More

We went for lunch upstairs in the restaurant. It was very quiet and service was prompt. Staff were friendly and the food was nice, but considering its location we were surprised at how little fish was on the menu. The table was natural wood and there was a hole in part of it which was full of food debris we... More

Middle of the road is all we can say. We don't dislike it here but as other reviewers have said, limited menu, expensive for what it is and therefore "OK" is probably about right. Service is good in the evenings but at lunch time ordinary. Food is good for those on a diet as portions are small. Not sure what... More

Ate in the bar early on a rainy Saturday evening. We arrived on spec and sat by the window overlooking the harbour on a very wet and windy evening. We decided to sit in the bar downstairs rather than trying for a seat in the more formal dining rooms upstairs as Rugby was showing on one of the TV s... More

We had an excellent meal at the Mariners last week, and would really recommend it. A good wine list and lots of different beers, a decent selection of meals, and when it came, delicious food. We had fish, curry and a veggie pie and all were top class, especially the pie. The service, even on a busy Friday, was superb... More

We decided to try The Mariners in Rock last week. Fronted by Nathan Outlaw we expected great things. It was quiet although a bit table arrived just after us. The Menu was quite limited and not particularly exciting. The waitress told us about the specials which included sharing plates which sounded interesting ..... until she told us the prices. Beef...
