This pub looks charming from the outside with whitewashed walls and a thatched roof. Inside, however, the décor and furnishings are rather battered and bruised. Still, don’t be put off by the rather tatty surroundings as what they do offer they do very well indeed. We visited on a Sunday night in early June at around 7.30pm. The place was... More

Just had to write about our local pub in Crantock again. Having retired here in 2015 we always take visiting friends and family here for an evening meal. Evelyn and Harry really are trying to up their game and the food really is now very good. there will usually be an excellent "Specials" menu in the main season. The kitchen will... More

Visited here on the first night of our weeks holiday with my parents and our doggie companion. We were staying very local to the pub, at Trevella Caravan Site, a short 5 minute drive from each other. We have dined here every time we have visited Cornwall on our holiday. The inn is very cosy and welcoming. I would suggest... More

First visit for a couple of years. Plenty of room, found ourselves a table. Went to bar and ordered our drinks. Waited for an age for someone to serve us, there were two ladies on. Had to ask at bar if we ordered at the table or bar. We both got our food after quite a wait. To be fair... More

We visited whilst on holiday with three kids under 7, one which was a baby. The staff were so welcoming even though they were busy offering to prepare the kids meals before ours to ensure they weren't waiting but as it was all of our meals were done quickly. They were all very good with the children. The food was... More

Not that anyone there would recognise me, but I'm a sort of 'regular' at the Old Albion - having visited it every few years since 1974! Crantock has always been my family's favourite destination when holidaying in Cornwall and that usually included spending evenings at what we felt was the best pub in the area. However, my most recent visit... More

Having visited here last year for a light meal(which was nice),we decided to try Sunday roast. We had not booked a table but there were very few people in.We ordered and waited and waited and waited....for a long time. When the meals arrived they were luke warm and did not even look appealing.Apart from barely being warm my meat was too fatty... Lovely food but we had been forewarned that the service wasn't speedy and they were right. The food came an hour after we arrived. Thankfully we weren't starving! We will visit again but will ensure we have plenty of time.
