Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This one of the best restaurant/bar in Harrisburg! You never know who you may see there! Went for a bday gathering ...restaurant in the front and cozy bar area in the back, the heavyweight fight was on big screens every corner, great music playing and a live band. Too!’ Atmosphere amazing... you feel like your in a big city like New York or Los Angeles., not to mention the food is amazing as well! If you never been there I highly recommend you check it out! Oh not to mention fireplace in the wall LOL

We were in Harrisburg for an RV show and largely unfamiliar with the area. Searched on Google for "restaurants near me" when this place popped up close by and we went. What a nice find! We had the gumbo, Mac & Cheese, crawdaddy egg rolls and yams. Everything was off the chain! Service and the vibe was good! We'll be back for sure.

Awesome Cajun food!
Had the chicken and collard egg rolls for an app and the jambalaya for the main. Both were exceptional. The jambalaya was just the right HOT to let you know that the rice was dirty and the andouille was super fresh! Highly recommend if you are in Harrisburg, visiting, or within 25 miles looking for something different and super tasty. Get in your car and GET here!!!!!

I visited 09/24/2019. The food was very delicious! I really enjoyed my low country boil! The plate size was very adequate, I wasn’t sure if I could finish it all, but I took on the challenge. The service was amazing! The owner’s daughter was very mannerable, sweet and provided excellent service. Just a nice spot to go to! I will definitely be back in the future!

If you like freak shows, driving around for half an hour to find a parking space, standing in long lines to use restrooms, waiting two hours for your meal, poor service, and food you can't eat; this is the place to go.
I can assure you I will never step foot in this place again.

This place used to be clean...Not sure what happened? Let me guess, the owner of the place, drinks and smokes cigarettes/cigars and expects his waitress/waiters to serve him. I've never witnessed a successful business owner use these terrible practices and expect great things. How about rolling up your sleeves and helping out on the front line- it'll go a long way.
The bathrooms are another issue, the ladies room, has very low lighting, lack paper products and the toilet is much less than clean, yuck. How about cleaning it before you open and throughout the day? Put a rotating schedule together to ensure these areas are kept clean.
You can have an even better experience with your customers when the OWNER(S) care and ensure thing are kept in order....
Let's talk about the Patio, dirty, Dirty, DIRTY ;-(. Ashes, Cigarette buds all over the place...does anyone care???? Get this place cleaned up and keep it this way. Once you do that, you'll see your business grow.
...with Federal Courthouse coming, you may want to get ahead of the ballgame.
Wishing you the best - just clean up and stop drinking/smoking and socializing all the time - It's a TERRIBLE reflection on Crawdaddy's.

The food was super good and a great mix of spices. The lunch portions are small, you might want to also get an appetizer. The etouffee was amazing!

I hate giving bad reviews but this one is necessary. What we had: Bayou Chicken & Shrimp Gumbo... The roux was scorched. Creole Style Shrimp and Grits - Dinner... $18.95 for 4 shrimp! Very bland and the grits were NOT smooth and creamy, they were FULL of large very hard clumps. Desire Seasoned Catfish - Dinner... again bland, but the frys were good. The sides... Pintos & Rice... beans were not fully cooked. Cornbread, I know this restaurant is not in the south but they are supposed to be serving southern food and cornbread is NOT sweet in the south! Overall $70 wasted.

The atmosphere was nice. They had some good music. The service wasn't too great. Mainly because they barely had anyone working so it took forever to get anything. As soon as I sat down I asked for water and didn't get it until I was half way though my meal. The mashed potatoes tasted like they just mashed garlic. They brought out another guest in my parties food out in pieces and brought out the main piece of fish well after. The catfish I had was good. The mac and cheese was a bit too buttery tasting. The black eyed peas and rice tasted like someone dumped salt in it. Another person in my party wasn't happy with their shrimp po boy. They gave her 4 big shrimp instead of smaller ones and it wasn't dressed properly. Waitstaff was nice, but the time it takes to get the food and the taste of everything wasn't worth it.

50 minutes until appetizer brought to table while a salad brought very early within 20 minutes. The chefs (if they deserve this title) do not know how to time food prep. The creole penne with shrimp arrived with 4 shrimp and had rubber consistency because over cooked and the noodles were dry and appeared to have sat under a heat lamp. The sides were overcooked-asparagus (3 pieces) and green beans. The ribs were not made with fresh meat and had been frozen then thawed. The kitchen was out of multiple items as was the bar one of which appeared multiple places on the menu—crawfish. Presentation of food poor. This restaurant needs to change management and/or ownership or will not survive. We will not return.

Been there twice; once for takeout and once dinning in. Ambience warm and welcoming. Our server Tyree was super attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. I cannot stop thinking about the collards and chicken egg roll! One of the best things I have ever eaten. Also the catfish great and the mac and cheese was bangin! Happy hour offers nice price breaks. I loved everything!

The food is exceptionally flavorful! I had the Caribbean jerk chicken. I was surprised that the three pieces were wings instead of a breast or thighs. That is my only complaint. The selections for entrees combined traditional Gulf foods with a side Caribbean menu. Didn't get my own dessert, but sampled the butter cake. It was scrumptious!

Went for a birthday party. The decor is great, staff was great, but the food was disappointing. I kept it simple by ordering a Jambalaya. It was $18.75 and $3.00 for 3 shrimp. It turned out to be a big bowl of rice loaded with cayenne pepper. I am being honest by saying that this was not a stellar dining experience. I ate a couple of mouthfuls and let them take it away and asked for the bill.

Dined here on Fat Tuesday (2/13/18) with my fiance and two of his siblings rounding out our foursome. We had come last year for this same occasion and this year was a sincere disappointment compared to last year! My guess is that last year, the joint received pretty substantial local media coverage, so the atmosphere was more festive and lively. For example, there were complimentary beads on the tables, and the menu featured beignets for dessert. This year, neither was the case. In fact, sadly, we were told there was no peach cobbler on the dessert menu, either.
While the food was excellent (appetizers: collard greens and chicken egg rolls, gator nuggets; entrees: two etouffee, one jambalaya, one crabmeat stuffed catfish), we waited a while in spite of being the ONLY table in the main dining area for a majority of our dining experience (two tables were seated while we were finishing up). There was another event going on...apparently Crawdaddy's hosts a "Birthday Club" every Tuesday in the rear bar area, which seemed to take our server (and others) away from the front dining space. Having said that, our waitress, Jennifer, was friendly, apologetic, and attentive when she was present. I was even offered a complimentary adult beverage for having to wait for my entree longer than the others.
So...overall, I look forward to coming back to Crawdaddy's and hope to be wowed again as I was last year. I look forward to a Saturday live jazz performance or Sunday brunch. But hopefully "Daddy" gets the message that as one of, if not the only, Cajun/Creole restaurants in the area, Mardi Gras should be celebrated with style! Laissez les bons temps rouler...Let the good times roll!
