We were greeted by friendly staff . The staff allowed us to sit where we wanted and were very attentive. The food was hot and delicious. A wonderful find.

Their PA Dutch selections are pretty good. The chicken & waffles were tasty, but the gravy came right out of a jar. The fish sandwich had a good taste, but was available from any number of frozen food purveyors in the area. Shoo fly and lemon merengue pies were excellent. Service was very good and friendly. There was a steady... More

Elva has owned and operated this restaurant for 44 years along with her son and her dedicated staff.! If you want real corn pie and real ground cherry pie now is the time to go. A great treat!

We have been coming here periodically for years. Each time we go, it's worse than the time before. We went for breakfast the other week, figuring it's hard to screw up breakfast. But the eggs were under cooked and the bacon was hard as a rock. Also, the prices were high compared to other mom and pop diner style restaurants... More

Old interior and not kid friendly. No children's menus. Their ad stated authentic PA food, corn on the etc. we were sadly disappointed by the offerings. Staff were very friendly.

This is a step back in time but the staff is very endearing. The tomato soup is made just like how your mother made it in the 1950's. Comforting. The ham and cheese was really low on cheese and ham. However, the best was the corn pie made from fresh sweet white corn. I am sure this is very seasonal... More

If you are looking for an old fashioned slab of 1960's style food this is it. My fish was a frozen patty. My salad was slimy. Service was just par. My daughter's steak was gray and not cooked to her requested temp. This place is hanging on for those who love the same ol' bland food they been used to... More

I've stopped here three times now, each time hoping that my mediocre experience the time before was a fluke. the location is good and it's a "family" restaurant. the Cloister has been in Ephrata near forever and going there is a tradition for many. But it's just old - old and rundown. Carpet dirty and ripped, tables chipped. Needs a... More
