The place as crowded with a twenty-minute wait promised. We were happy to be seated within ten minutes of arriving. The restaurant was humming with guests and staff. The special menu and regular selection choices were well-named. The Cajun Shrimp salad was more like coleslaw with shrimp tossed in. We were so hungry we made the mistake of ordering the... More

Stopped for some Ruby ale and soup and sandwiches. Both were excellent and I love the look of this place warm and cozy. Huge patio outside, great parking and service.

Neat building in kind of a strange location. We went on St. Patricks day and we really enjoyed the bagpiper. The drinks were fine and the food was good.

Upon entering, a sign indicated it was seat yourself so we took the only table, but we waited a long time before any of the servers acknowledge we were there. It then took a while longer to get menus. Once got a menu, we were able to order food & drinks. The food arrived not too long after ordering. All... More

The obvious is that the brew is excellent. With that said, you MUST try the stew. OMG fantastic like momma made. Fish and chips was excellent. Fantastic service in a friendly pub, casual environment. Most definitely would eat and drink here again

We enjoyed a pleasant lunch at John Barleycorn's on a day when there was little competition for seating due to the weather. Food and drink is always of high quality.

John Barleycorns is a great brew pub, great beer (McMenniman's) and their food is excellent, too. Easy to get to off I-5.

Based on proximity to her home my friend and I ate here last Friday. First, we ordered cocktails. her choice was a hot buttered rum which she thoroughly enjoyed. I chose a "Bombay & tonic". I do not know how a bartender can screw up this simple cocktail, but it was not acceptable. When questioned the waitress said the tonic... More

The building is very distinctive and we were told it was custom built patterned after a building in Hawaii. Quite dark inside but tons of atmosphere including a large and quite elaborate potbelly stove that was kept going and provided delicious warmth (it was snowing outside!). One wall had soaring arched windows and the ceilings were high and beamed. There... More

Cool McMenamins location in a building patterned off of a Hawaiian pumping station. Seasonal food was terrific, the beers were standard above average offerings from McMenamins. Classic and familiar, this is a cozy place for good food and good beers.
