Sassy Onion has the best chicken fried steak in Salem! If you can't eat a GIANT Chicken fried steak breakfast, I suggest the Captain's Sandwich. It has bacon, egg & a smaller portion of Sassy's delicious chicken fried steak on a home made biscuit. All I can say is YUMMMM! Every time I go, the staff are friendly & helpful... More

Went here for the first time today with a friend and had a great experience! Lots of menu options plus specials at great prices. I got the "Monte Twisto" special that came with fresh fruit. Delicious thick homemade bread and homemade strawberry jam definitely put this over the top! So, so good. Also I love biscuits, so I ordered one... More

Good restaurant. Lots of variety. Came here originally when Worth of Mouth was to long a wait. Have come here instead since.

Great food! They make a adult grilled cheese that is awsome. Been many times for breakfast & lunch & always have great food & great customer service. They also cater.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and found the place packed. But the wait wasn't long so we hung in there until a table opened up. Drinks first: I had the blueberry lemonade and my daughter went for a shake. Wife tried the marionberry lemonade. All were excellent. For our lunch we had the fish and chips, a sassy onion... More

While visiting Salem, Oregon, we went to The Sassy Onion on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed! Try the French toast, but unless you have a huge appetite, only get one. We got the combo of two eggs and bacon or sausage. Huge portions! The French toast was the size of a lunch plate and almost two... More

We went to breakfast there twice and it was delicious. The service was awesome and the staff was very attentive. We have a wheelchair and a large party so the wait was a little long but they always seated before they said they would... so don't be afraid of the wait. And if you do have to wait the food... Popped in here based on a simple Google search. We were expecting another "greasy spoon".....you know, good food-sketchy staff/kitchen/location/etc. Not so much! Staff was really friendly and we were seated fairly soon. Place is clean and well maintained. Servers were polite, thorough, and professional. Food was great....and in volume. Word to the wise....unless you are a professional eater, only get... More
