Ken makes the best bread and pizza in the USA. His artisan bread is to die for and his pizza is second to only the pizza from Italy I've tasted. A must place to eat if in Portland

I've been making pizza from Ken Forkish's book "The Elements of Pizza". My wife thinks they are the best I've made. So, while visiting Portland we had to try Ken's restaurant, Ken's Artisan Pizza". I'm glad we did. First, his wood fired oven makes a significant difference I cannot replicate until I convince my spouse we need to build one.... More

I am from Portland but now living in Arizona. Every time my husband and I visit Portland we go to Ken's Pizza on SE 28th. They have great thin crust pizza. We had the fennel and sausage with chilies which was delicious.

Before visiting my friend in Portland, he spent 2 weeks telling me this place rivaled pizza in the northeast. Um, no, it doesn't. It's not NYC Pizza, or NJ pizza for that matter, though it's not supposed to be in fairness....so let's compare it to it's natural competitor, New Haven Pizza. Sals in New Haven destroys this place. Pepe is... More

We knew exactly where we wanted to start our Portland trip! We headed straight to Ken's Artisan Pizza for dinner. We enjoyed our "individual" pizzas and had a great first meal in Portland!! We first heard about Ken's from the Right at the Fork Podcast and we are so happy we did. Highly recommended!

My husband and I eat pizza only on rare occasions, and only when we can find it made in an authentic way. Ken's certainly does that. They have a wood-fired oven in the middle of the restaurant and you can watch as the wonderful thin crusts are made by hand as the pizzas are ordered. The toppings were delicious and... More

A new level of pizza! This was the last meal of a week long trip to the area and what a great way to wrap it up! The appetizer of roasted veggies was so flavorful. The pizza menu seemed limited at first glance, maybe 8 pies to choose from with limited toppings but don't be fooled everything is so thoughtfully... More

Let me preface this by saying that because I have two young children, my enjoyment of pizza had all but disappeared. There's no child's birthday party ever attended that does not have bland pizza as it's main offering and as such, my taste buds have become numb to its possible pleasures. I'm one of those people that finds New York... More

My husband and I alway's have to have our weekly Pizza fix and have gone to just about every pizza location we can find...Ken's is by far the best. Because the restaurant is so popular and there is always a waiting line, we typically have our fix on Sunday afternoons when you can get in at 4:00 with all of... More

I was excited to visit Ken's and try his take on pizza. I have been to Starita's, Da Michele's and other famous places in Naples and about 40 VPN places in the states including Two Amy's in DC and Marco's in Denver. I would place Ken's in the top ten given the entire experience, but not solely on the pizza.... More
