Back during graduate school, when we didn't have 2 dimes to rub together, this was a favorite "cheap date." We'd share a gin and tonic and listen to Irish bands. Nowadays when we are in town, we each get not only our own beer, but...More

Stopped in for a quick lunch and a flight of beer. Tried the kale salad and foam chowder - both were excellent. Great selection of traditional Irish beer, locally made. Sampled them in a flight & quite enjoyed them.

Shepherds pie was so good. Lamb stew very tasty but too many potatoes. Fish and chips excellent and good service.

Kells is a traditional looking Irish Pub/Restaurant. It was warm and the folks were friendly...very nice for a drizzly, cold evening. We shared a batch of the sweet potato fries which were crispy and delicious. We also shared the shepherds pie - oh my! Lovely,...More

On a cool and wet day, their Irish Coffee hit the spot. The welcoming friendly staff made us feel at home upon entry. I had one of the best Reuben's I have had in Portland. It was stuffed with corned beef and kraut on toasted...More

Seriously - I am a nacho connoisseur. These were deep fried potato chips loaded like nachos. It tasted like a mix of potato skins/ nachos . I pretty much licked the plate clean. 😜

Popped in for dinner, seeking an “interesting” pub meal. The beer was good. The food, just okay. We had a shepherds pie that my missus described as a bit ordinary, while my fish and chips were greasier than I usually like (tip - remove some...More

Good beer and good vibes! I wish they had some more upbeat music on while the band was on break because it really brought the vibe down. But all and all a good time.

While on a tour in Portland, OR. several of us decided to try Kells Irish Pub for dinner. We were not disappointed. The Reuben was excellent, as was the Kells Burger. Service was great and our waiter demonstrated the "trick" they do to stick dollar...More

Coming from Ireland and Boston both, I would agree this is a top place...too large to be a real Irish pub but certainly nothing like the usual large American restaurant. Good long bar, long menu with grand items, huge portions (ok, this part is like...More

I can't answer your question directly. I walked, but Kells is within a block or two of the green/orange and red/blue Max lines, so it's relatively accessible from almost anywhere in Portland.
