We only got to experience the karaoke portion of the Alibi, but we loved it. We had already eaten so we did not get a chance to try any of the food and our drinks were standard; none of the signature cocktails made it into our gullets, but the experience overall was awesome. This place was great. Loved everything from... More

Wow! This place couldn't be more out of place where it is - We docked on Swan Island and came around the corner and saw this place lit up like Christmas and the lights pulled us in. The place is dimly lit tikki bar with a unique atmosphere of places we visited in Portland. Staff were very friendly and the... More

Seriously - You were Portland's last remaining, swank as all get out, original mid-century tiki bar and you had an impressive menu of 35 or more classic tiki drinks! Like you should, being a tiki bar and all. But now you've stopped serving all but ten of those drinks in favor of the same beer and cocktails everyone else in... More

This place had a great atmosphere, good appetizers, and fun people. Our group went there for a night of drinks, dancing and karaoke and we all had a blast!

It was a bright sunny day when I stepped into the Alibi. I was drawn to this Tiki haunt sheerly by its legend alone. It’s claim to fame? It’s Portland’s Original Tiki Bar. And has been around since 1947. I had heard that The Alibi had been sold by its original owner back in 1991. Sold under the stipulation that–... More

Found this place by total accident, it was right across the street from our motel. Tiki bars are unknown in the UK so this was our first and I was so impressed I bought their T-shirt like the hapless tourist I am. We went a few times and Amy did a top job serving - thank you ma'am. Have a... More

The decor is 1940's Hawaiian kitch. The food used to be pretty good, but seems to have suffered with the neighborhood decline. Ordered the royal Reuben, which used to be outstanding, but is today half the size and taste it used to be - nothing outstanding at all anymore. Used to be worth the stop - still might be if... Or maybe a zombie--rum is king or queen here. The decor is a blast from the past and so much fun. Bartenders are attentive and make a heck of a drink! Coconut shrimp and steamed potstickers were very tasty too. Go, drink, sing if you dare. Big spot for Karaoke.

The Alibi is a classic. The door is a time machine. Enter and you are back in a vintage tiki era. The food is tasty and the drinks are sweet and reasonably priced. Alas, the servers tend to be rude and are not hospitable to the "cultural creatives" in the region, but karaoke is quite popular.

A wonderful blast to the past. Alibi is in its original condition since the 1930s. It's cozy and the food was great also. We settled for Calamari and Egg rolls - the spicy sauce was delicious. The decor is interesting and worth a tour. Our waiter was pleasant and timely
