This was a great place for dinner. The food was well prepared, and the service was what you’d expect at a restaurant like this. Our server was very knowledgeable about the items offered. The atmosphere is nice and, although nice, not pretentious. Perfect place for...More

We went here a few wks back for Portland Dining Month. I had been to Bluehour before but it has been a few years. The space is great and the restaurant has a nice vibe. Initially though, our water guy was a bit odd, he...More

Started at happy hour then moved to a table and enjoyed a flawless evening. Service was outstanding, friendly, helpful and prompt. A minor hiccup "I think they forgot my croutons on the soup," was handled with grace and humor. Three at our table did the...More

Great happy hour, outdoor deck full ofweiden kennedy creatives, and an innovative wine program. Service is very good and fairly priced

The atmosphere is elegant contemporary and the service is impeccable. My food, however, was... meh. The celery root soup was the epitome of bland and the salmon was drowned in a salty, tasteless broth. The dessert gateau was wonderful, but did not make up for...More

My annual holiday dinner with a friend was last evening, and one of the best meals overall I have had for a while. The duck was as good as I've tasted, and the beet salad perfectly made and presented. She had the scallops and caesar...More

Booked a reservation for 2 for turkey day based on the fact that they had gluten free options on their menu. Took a leap of faith and SO glad we did. They thought of everything. Amazing cocktails, salad, beef roulade, flourless chocolate cake.....yum yum. Worth...More

It started with the server saying "if the menu is your security blanket, you can keep it" I was still holding onto it after ordering, while my focus was on my friend who just joined the table. I ordered the halibut. I had to borrow...More

Haven't been to Bluehour for quite a while. The food was excellent as is the ambience! Drinks are expensive and the overall value is average. It's certainly not a bargain! It's a good place for expense account types, and perhaps special occasions, but for us...More

Bluehour is one of my very favorite restaurants in Portland. The menu is varied and interesting, and food is truly excellent -- not cheap, but worth the cost. The service is unfailingly prompt, courteous, and efficient. One of the best things about it is that...More

Description
Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops.
